Is this the proper test to check for possible lyme carditis? I pay out of pocket so I don't want to pay for an expensive test if it is not the correct way to get an answer.

I just really want to know what is causing my dull chest ache every day

I told my doc about my chest aches and she didn't think it was my heart since I have no other symptoms (shortness of breath etc..)

She never recommended I get my heart checked until I brought it up

I specifically asked for an echo because I thought that was the correct test

She wrote out the rx and that was it. I would hope if it was not the correct test, she would have told me

Positive Igenex/CDC test
Treatment 2/10
2/10-8/10 Amox, ceftin, zith, flagyl
Currently: Bicillin, Minocycline, still dealing with severe breathing issues

An echo is a great test to check for carditis.

But, it is at least a $3000 test. Have you had

any other cardiac testing done?

I had mitral valve prolapse until I went on iv. No mitral valve, just had an echo. An echo can tell alot.
