A few years ago I started to get occasional stabbing pain and what I finally determined to be muscle spasm on the left side of chest by heart.
The occasional became more regular, then daily, then off and on all day long.
This has been a slow process, so I don't think it's an emergency, but has anyone else had anything like this? It has been more irritating lately, then went away for several days, now back again.

If anyone else has this, I'd like to hear.

It sounds like costochondritis. I get it often on my left side as well (for whatever reason). It is annoying, especially when it feels hard to breath because o it.

Hmmm... I'll have to look that up. I don't know what it is.

I get it too. I try to measure my pulse at the same time as the spasm but have a hard time of determining if it is arrhythmmia-related.

I've been told costochondritis before also, but it doesn't feel like the chest wall to me.

I read about costochondritis, and with that you have pain when pressing the area (rib cage/inflammation). I don't have pain in the chest wall either, and it doesn't sound at all like c.

Have you ever had your heart checked out? Did you wear a holter?

My heart is clean from what I have been told. I have done most heart tests at least twice. However, it's never explained my heart symptoms other than clinically assuming I have Babesia.

Oh boy...reading about lyme and heart issues has officially freaked me out. My palms are practically sweating.

Are there people who have lyme and experience shortness of breath, etc. but do not have actual heart problems?

I am flaring up right now, and experience chest tightness, shortness of breath, etc. However, when I was in remission for 8 months, I never had these symptoms.

If a heart issue exists, wouldn't you have the symptoms all the time...even when in lyme remission?

Having my echo in 2 weeks.

I have had freaky "heart" symptoms all of the time for the last 2 years. That's been my biggest Lyme/Babesia symptom.

I've gone through the gauntlet for heart testing and have been told my heart is structurally fine.

I've had shortness of breath, chest pain especially over the heart area, "muscle twitches" right over my heart, artery spasms in the neck (?), left shoulder & arm & jaw pain, PAC's/PVC's, sweating (but not really cold sweats), and increase in pulse.

I can say that after two years, I have yet to keel over. And, knock on wood, my heart symptoms have lessened over the last few months. Good sign, hopefully.

When the heart symptoms come on it's really creepy and not fun. I agree though, it seems that a heart issue would continue to exist even if you feel that you are in remission.
