Does anyone know anything about this test for lyme? My dog just got it and vet said he was told the equivalent test for humans isn't effective. BUT, also, today, I heard a rumor that there was a place around here doing the test on people.

I had a C6 Lyme Peptide run several years ago. It came back extremely high for lyme antibodies. I was retreated for Lyme based on this test, as my Western Blot and other test never came back CDC positive (not enough band present). The test was developed by the University of Tulane. I think Columbia University has some information of this test at www.Columbia-lyme.org. My test was originally ordered by the Lyme and Tick Borne disease center in Phillipsburg, NJ which I believe is now closed. It was run a second time by an infectiuos disease doctor in PA by I believe Quest Diagnostics in Chantilly, VA. You might be able to get information on this test from Columbia University's Lyme research center.
Whether it is or is not effective on human, I don't know, but it was the test that helped me get retreated. I was originally diagnose with lyme by tick bite, illness and the erythma migrans rashe viewed by a doctor, but my other lyme tests never came back positive for CDC purposes. So I believe I fall into that false negative group for test purposes.
