I've been in treatment for quite some time. I've read many articles on herxing, but now I'm confused.
The pains we feel when we are in treatment are herxes? Right?
So, without treatment or our body's immune system fighting these bacterias we would not feel the pains? Right?
So, when we first got seriously ill was when our immune systems caught on to the infection?
Thanks...maybe dumb re=asked questions..but, I'm getting confused on whether the pain increasments are a sign of getting worse or better.

Hi Just--
Yep it is confusing and hard to explain --
when infected with the lyme bactira you feel bad because of the toxins that the bactria produces when it is activly invading and eating your body as food --
Think of toxins like You go thing to the bath room to get rid of waste your body can not use--Bactria have to do the same -->
When you herx even MORE TOXINS are released because the Bactria are falling apart (exploding) and dieing-
So you get the Double Wammy effect and it make you feel even worse --
After you have gone threw a few herx times-- you will be able to tell when a herx is happening-
I almost always start herxing within 4 hours of taking the first dose of a new medicine -- Lucky me --
Herxing is No Fun but Herxing is a Good Sign--
Remember No matter how bad you feel when you are Herxing the -- Bactria Feels Worse than you do --Jay--
