Looks like I have been reinfected. I've been off abx for about a year and doing well (this after almost 3 years of abx and antimalarials) and have been using a rife machine to stay in remission.
A few weeks ago I had a weird speckly bright red rash (bites?) on my legs and feet. Last week I developed a bulls-eye on my neck. I am now pretty ill again but my symptoms are different this time around - mainly a lot of pain, especially in legs, and the classic migratory joint pain, along with severe muscle aches.
I believe I was re-infected about 6 weeks ago. I've started Zithromax and Minocycline (leftover from my prior infection) as it's all I have for now. They're not expired, so no worries there.
I will be self-treating this time - I have ZERO money for a Lyme doctor so that's not an option.
My biggest hope and prayer is that I get over this quickly and that it doesn't set me back too far. There is always that thought in the back of my mind..."What if this time you NEVER get better?" But trying really hard to block that out and stay positive...

OH Lauren, this just sucks!!! I am so sorry....interested to hear about what you can combine, as my kids are on zith and mino and have been for a long time. I'm hoping that's a good combo.
Ryan just got rebitten....no symptoms or rash, but it's been under a week. I have him on zith and mino. I have a bite on my leg that is probably a mosquito bite but I tell you, I'm scared!!!! I just got Lyme under control, knocked it down, and am dealing with Bart...the last thing I need is to get Lyme again.
I'm so, so sorry you are sick again. Let's just hope you kick the crap out of it fast. I'm glad you have antibiotics leftover, and scripts to fill.

I shouldn't have said "I have him on zith and mino"...he is an active pt of Dr. J, who has him on that. Sometimes I worry they've been on the same treatment for so long with no changes, that's all. And Ryan had stopped treatment but got rebitten shortly thereafter, so he is back on. The stopping was on his own.

Bummer - I empathize. My post is a few down from yours... Second time around...
I'm scared - it took two years to recover from the first one... I don't think I'm quite as bad... but not looking forward to starting treatment again..
Prayers for your quick healing!

Tracy, I hope your recent bite is a bacteria-free mosquito bite!

Lauren, just saw where you posted in another thread about lyme research. I didn't know you were back down south.
Sure hate to hear that you might be re-infected. That would truly suck. At least you have an education on LD and that should help.

LL28 -- So sorry to read this post! My thoughts are with you. At least this time around you know how to treat and what to expect. I am guessing you will 'up' your rife sessions?

Summers, your post made me laugh out loud - I've definitely 'up'd my sessions - sometimes twice a day or more. I finally decided to give it a break - I'm sure I was overdoing it. I haven't rifed in a about 3 days now and plan on waiting until next week to start again.
