I've been feeling a lot better since starting flagyl about 3 months ago, but last night my one
ankle became swollen. I don't know if it is lyme related or what. It doesn't hurt too awful bad, but
I have an horrible sunburn (probably caused by bactrim) on my shin that is overly painful to touch
and only on that one leg... so I'm not sure. Maybe it does hurt?
Any advice?

Is it possible the swelling is from the sunburn on that leg? Did the swelling start right after the sunburn? Is it just a little swelling or a lot? Is the leg also somewhat swollen? (If so, then maybe the bad sunburn is the cause and the fluid drawn to the area due to the burn is going down to the ankle due to gravity.)
If you don't think that is the cause, then please call your lyme doc and report this symptom. I think the doc will want to know about it.
If the swollen joint is caused by lyme, then the doc may want to change your meds. Seems to me he would want to put you on something to kill the spirochete form of lyme.
