I am hearing a lot of problems regarding yeast and the fact that I am on antibiotics makes me think I should pay attention to it. How do you know when you have a yeast problem for a guy and what problems does yeast create.

Also, I was reading about a certain herb that some have said helps with Lyme. This herb is the root of Teasel. Anyone heard of it and its effects?

Here's a good link about male yeast infections. It'e educational and a bit humorous too https://www.msu.edu/~eisthen/yeast/men.html

A couple of ways of knowing that you have a yeast problem is possibly a white coated tongue. That's usually a sign of yeast. Sometimes men can get an itchy anus, among other *things*. Believe it or not, you could have a yeast infection and not have any symptoms, at least for awhile.

Are you taking probiotics? This is an absolute MUST for anyone who takes abx. You need to take them first thing in the morning at least two hours away from your abx and the last thing at night before you go to bed.

Abx kill off all the good bacteria in your gut while killing the bad bacteria as well. Probiotics help to keep put back the good bacteria in your gut. Eating plain (non sweetened) yogurt, or keifer, is another way of putting good bacteria in your gut.

If you think you have a yeast infection call your LLMD and he/she will prescribe you some medication that will help with this. Although, most people think only women have this problem, not so. Whenever we take abx this increases the chances of anyone developing a yeast infection.

If you're interested in trying a natural product that's worked very effectively for my wife and me, you can check this out and order it on their website:

http://abc.eznettools.net/jernigannutraceuticals/yeast-ease.html

I'd suggest you call your LLMD and tell him/her the symptoms you're having and he/she can prescribe you something for it, or you can try Yeast Ease and treat it with natural medicine.

If you want to discuss this privately feel free to send me a pm. I know it can be an embarrassing subject to talk about, but believe me, we've all been there and it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's one of those things that just can't be helped sometimes when you're on abx.

By the way, eating sweets (refined processed foods), drinking soda, beer, etc, will feed yeast and make things worse for you. Eating live, healthy, organic foods is very important if you want to have a quicker recovery from this dreadful disease.

Keeping yeast away while taking antibiotics is very important.

For Lyme I believe it is two fold. One-some think it aids the bugs to survive the antibiotics. Two-If overgrowth it can kill.

Symptoms of intestinal yeast are white tongue, bloating, gas, abdominal pain (from the bloating), and some people get diarhhea.

When teasel works, it works wonderful. But when it doesn't it does nothing to you. That was my experience with teasel.

As for yeast, I had no GI symptom at all, only skin fungus that became very persistant. Once I took a strong yeast cleanser though, I had a bad D which shows that I had loads in my GI tract, even without any apparent symptoms.
