I've had a manageable case of internal hemorrhoids for a while but over the past few weeks it has gotten worse. I think some consistently firm stools aggravated it. I've tried the over-the-counter stuff which doesn't help. I tried some herbal stuff--doesn't help.
I went to the doctor today. He prescribed a topical application. When I got the stuff home and took it out of the bag I read the label and found out that it's got hydrocortizone. I recall reading in Burrascano's document that steroids for Lyme patients should be avoided.
So now what do I do? I'm sure that the Lyme has a hand in this matter, between whatever the problem is in the gut that caused the constipation and the chronic inflammatory condition. So I'm guessing that it's going to be difficult to get these hemorrhoids to shrink. I'm trying to eat as much fiber as possible to keep things soft but I feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle.
Does anyone know of anything safe that works? I'm going to bring the cortizone stuff back to the drug store.

Just wanted to let you know I get hemmorhoids like that too, and it seems lyme-related for me. I haven't found anything that really helps yet, except staying away from sugar, dairy, wheat, caffeine, anything spicy, and some other dietary restrictions. Good luck finding treatments - I hope to learn from this thread too!
