I have a lot of neuro symptoms. I had some other symptoms (like fatigue and joint pain) before diagnosis, but I've always had significant neurological problems. I have been on pretty much every oral antibiotic there is with limited success other than doxy. I have had symptom relief with the non-neuro symptoms on doxy.
At last appointment (phone), doc discussed moving to injectible Bicillin or IV Rocephin. He suggested that Bicillin was just as effective as Rocephin. After doing research though, I'm starting to doubt my decision and am wondering if I should just move to the IV.
Any experience/thoughts/articles that might help as I try to make the best decision about our next move?
Thanks

I was told the same thing by my doc. I did Bicillin shots for many months and they didn't do a thing for me.
You do have to remember, everyone is different.
I've been on IV rocephin since last Aug. Had some improvement, but then didn't go any farther.

I would do them both at the same time and then add Flagyl on a pulse and some Zithromax or Biaxin. For Bicillin to work the doses have to be gradually increased until you are at high blood levels. This depends on body weight and blood concentrations but can be up to 4x per week.

I get 2 bicillin shots a week and I have seen some improvement. They hurt but are worth it

Rocephin is 65% efectiv Bicillin is 62% so is not a big diference but its important to get right dose.
