I am pretty sure my dizziness is related to andrographis which it can cause, although it is rare. I quit everything when I got dizzy before, then restarted just abx and did ok. I took andrographis yesterday and am dizzy again this morning. I am quitting it to see what happens.

I just wanted other people to know that this can be a side effect in case it happens to you. It can also cause nausea. So you could think it is a herx when really it is a side effect. I don't know if you would get over the side effects continuing with it so that the benefit would be out weight the detriment, but it makes me feel horrible. I have also had headaches.

Although the horses really needed to get those weeds out of there, sadly, after your exposure last week for a day's spraying with herbicides, likely, everything is going to react differently than it did before - for a while - especially since your inner ear is already in a tender state from the virus you mentioned earlier.

The inner ear being upset will also trigger nausea but andrographis' bitter property is best balanced with a warm herb such as ginger - and taken with food. Still, your body is not the same body as before last week's weed treatment.

Can you get to a low-heat far infrared sauna? Or warm baths in Epson salts. Rather than adding anything else for your liver to process, it may be best to clear out the stuff from last week's spraying. A bath warm enough to sweat should help but also basic liver support such as milk thistle is good.

After the herbicide exposure, andrographis may be too strong for you right now. Ginger capsules may also help with the dizziness.

Andrographis can cause nausea - that's to be expected. The literature suggests taking it with food to offset that. For me, after a couple weeks, I could take it on an empty stomach and do fine - no nausea. I would have never thought that possible as the first few weeks, it was rough.

More water than usual is also good for the first couple weeks.

But, this just may not be for everyone. It has sure saved my life, though. It's not a walk in the park (nor is anything about lyme treatment) but I've very glad I worked up to the full dose (and that can take a while as it is very bitter.) Again, though, this just may not be for everyone.

How to lighten the load that affects inner ear (well, chemicals affect our whole body but the inner ear is the first system to go kaput, and one that also then affects all other body functions).

When I started andrographis it was in May before I had even thought of any spraying and I got very dizzy then too. I thought I had a virus because i also had nausea and headache and was very tired. It may have been, not sure. Anyway, I quit everything, all herbs and abx for two weeks. The dizziness went away after a few days after quitting. Then I started the herbs and abx again and had dizziness again.

This time my pill boxes ran out so I just took the abx for about a week or so during which time I had no dizziness. Then I made up my pill boxes with the herbs and abx and the first day on andrographis I had a dizzy spell. Then today I was very dizzy.

I am sure the spraying did not help but it is not the initial cause of it. I will see what happens. If I do not have any more of this, it is the andrographis for sure. It is a powerful herb and some people just can't take it. I tend to have the rare reactions to drugs. Luckily it is not the abx that is causing this, like I first thought.

andrographis lowers bloodpresure. you can have a drop in BP when you stand your heart spends up to compenstate and you can get dizzy from it.
andrographis are not the only herb that will lower bp so if this ends up an issue check on any other herbs you are taking

hawthorn will equal your blood pressure out. if its to high it will lower too low it will raise it. i did a complex with cordocepts and hawthorn and it it helped a lot.

I had dizziness for about 4 days after I started andrographis. It went away and I haven't had a problem since. Good luck all!

one more thought: dehydration.

Andrographis substantially decreases edema (puffiness) and that increased urine output (and we're talking big time, here).

Therefore, more water needs to be consumed. It took me a while after starting this to remember that as the last thing I wanted was to add to the output level. But, with the herxing, more water is required.

Generally, drinking more water (maybe with a dash of sea salt and a squirt of lemon juice) really helps calm some headaches (so does taking magnesium).

I'm reminded of dehydration headaches when I see my plants wilt and nearly check-out. Within an hour or so after a good soaking, they are back to life. My brain seems to take to water much the same way.

Still, headaches are just such a near-constant for many. Actually, after being on andrographis mine have improved. But the early weeks can be pretty rough. I had to sleep all day long, it seemed. And, maybe for some, it's just as sign this is not for them. So hard to decipher.

THe dizziness is gone now. I restarted the abx this morning and so far I feel ok. I think I just had a reaction to the andrographis. It is listed as a side effect online and also in the book Lyme Disease Solutions. It wasn't from dropped blood pressure. It was caused from my inner ear problem. If I turned my head suddenly things would spin. I just felt drunk.
