I've been battling a topical skin yeast infection for quite some time, I've been barely able to keep it under control in the cold weather with topical anti-fungal cream. Now that it's summer and skin is warmer and moist, I find it's getting worse.

Is there a cream or some other treatment anyone has found for skin yeast issues?

You can try putting Selsun Blue shampoo on it if it is in a small region. I also am dealing with this now. After 2 weeks of creams, I just decided to pop a diflucan. This has helped clear it up in the past

What kind of cream have you been using?

We use clortrimazole 1% on my daughter's yeasty rashes. She's not on abx or anything, gets diaper rashes.

My son has an rx for fungal toe infection. It's called Oxistat. It's labeled for dermatological use. I'm not sure if it could be used for all topical applications.

WO healing oil from www.systemicformulas.com

Can be used topically and internally bot not on mucous membranes. Have seen it take care of external fungus on nails in 4 - 5 days.

Have your doc order it for you, only goes thru health pros.

Must have been composing at the same time as SixGoofyKids. Here are some options but also treat systemically. Yeast is never just topical (aside from maybe diaper rash).

Olive Leaf Extract tablet or capsules best I've found for systemic use. For skin:

An Olive Leaf formula (that contains Terminalia chebula):

My ND (naturopathic doctor) recommended MYROLEA B. Most naturopathic doctors and acupuncturists know about the Seven Forest formulas. As this is a combination formula, there are ingredients included to help the body with "clearing heat" and metabolizing toxins.

Myrolea-B (White Tiger) is a simple formulation of highly concentrated extracts from four Chinese herbs and one Western herb.

The Chinese herbs include forsythia and lonicera, two of the key ingredients of Ilex 15 (and the main antiviral ingredients of Yin Qiao Jie Du Pian), thus boosting the dosage of these essential ingredients.

Myrolea-B also contains the antiviral agents scute (huangqin) and terminalia (hezi). The Western herb in this formulation is olive leaf, which is one of the primary anti-viral herbs derived from the European tradition.

Yes. But ask for guidance form the person who heads the supplement department there and ask if they have any "tester" jars or tubes.

Using a clean Q-tip each time to draw out any gel (even at home), start with a tiny area first and wait a bit before expanding the coverage. If they have testers you can put a little of each brand on and then do some shopping to give you time to see how they feel for you.

Go first for products without any petroleum products added. You could try the straight Tea Tree Oil but that might burn. If not, I'd go with that.

Not the same as Tea Tree oil and cooler in nature, Calendula is very soothing:

Califlora Calendula Gel

(Boericke &Tafel's brand is non-oily. Another brand of calendula gel is very oily and much less effective, in my experience. )

ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF THE ESSENTIAL OIL FROM CALENDULA OFFICINALIS L. (ASTERACEAE) GROWING IN BRAZIL (Brazil, 2007)

Abstract:

This study tested in vitro activity of the essential oil from flowers of Calendula officinalis using disk diffusion techniques. The antifungal assay results showed for the first time that the essential oil has good potential antifungal activity.
