Hello, After the wonderful support her, I got the name of a LD specialist. My daughter was bitten by a tick. We found it, removed it and she developed the bull's eye rash. She is currently on Ceftin 250. 1 1/4tbsp twice a day. No other medications. I and my husband have been reading so much about Lyme and are scared so much for our daughter. Do you think this dose is enough? I would rather take an agressive aproach. My husband wants to bupm it to 1 1/2 tbsp (which is not that much more, only 1mg..) but I am sticking which the prescribed 1 1/4tbsp. Any other mothers with small children? Please, share your stories. Did you have to switch meds/dosage? Did you have to take anything else besides the antibiotics? For how long? And the silver bullet question: How do you know if is is gone?? i am so afreaid that we would stop the meds and the bacteria would be still there. It has been 10 days since we started the medical visites and I cannot get rest- I am constantly warrying about her. What should she eat? Did I make a mistake? Feeling out of control when your child suffers is so tough. Please, anyone? Thank you.

my son is 5 and he was on 3/4 teaspoon 2x a day- i was told by others here that was adequate for his weight. how much does she weigh? my son weighs around 35 lbs. 1 1/4 teaspoon 2x a day sounds like a lot. i wouldn't bump it up- there are warnings about taking too much ceftin that comes along with the prescription.
my son got bit by a tick and we had it tested, it was positive for lyme. he was on ceftin for 4 weeks.

She weighs 68 lbs. I guess it makes sense now, it's almost double your son's dose. How long ago was he sick? is he cured now? I keep reading about the Bb mutating and hiding into tissues and B-cells and cysts and tricking us that it is gone. I hope all the best for our children. I see you are from NJ. Is there a way your can send me a private message and tell em if you went to a LLMD and how happy you were with him/her. Thank you so much. I am really a nervous wreck with this whole situation. Why not me, why her? I will live with this thought every day...
