So I need to trick a doctor into giving me more antibiotics....
I have been taking Doxy for two weeks and my cardiac symptoms have gotten much better (they were really severe) but my muscle aches and brain fog have been really coming out at the moment and getting worse...this sort of confirms to me that I do indeed have Lyme or a co infection. My fatigue is really overpowering me at the moment, my eyes are so heavy no matter how much sleep I get.
I had a doctor tell me I didn't have Lyme as my sereology test said ''Lyme not detected''...but I know that could be all rubbish.
I'm going to see a new doctor tomorrow...I might say I'm travelling and ask for a script of doxy so if I need it I can take it. This is why I had doxy in the first place...a doc gave it to me for travel.
Any ideas?
There really isn't such thing as a Lyme literate doctor in Australia...that I can find...

Could you say, "I don't know what I have. All I know is this doxy is doing wonders for me. It must be killing something! Can I have a few month's worth? I happened to have a little from a previous travel trip and just decided to try it as an experiment, and it has really helped me! I want to continue the experiment. This is great!"
Tell him the symptoms that have improved.
Some people have said it is easy to get doxy from veterinarians. Could give that a try.
Can you buy it on the Internet without a prescription?
Just some ideas that come to mind.
Watch out for the doxy burn. You really have to stay out of the sun when taking doxy. I got it on my fingers and it was totally unbearable!
You can get the burn while driving--through the windshield of the car. So, if it is sunny, be very, very careful to wear gloves on hands while driving and stay in shade.

I did that for my last doctor...she got offended and told me I was fine.
I'm going to try another doctor...
Not giving up. I was actually thinking of saying the doxy is for my skin and I noticed it helped my heart symptoms...then ask if I can have a few months worth as I know many people take Doxy for their skin for months on end...

You might want to get copies of all your blood works.
Most of us have vitamin D deficiencies.
Many have high hemoglobins, low lymph, and low sed rates.
If they would look at protein they will see it is not in correlation with the high hemoglobins,
It can be very low, meaning something can be inside the cells and it is not good stuff/protein...Just a thought.

I know of people who are on it permanently for rosacea or acne. If you have any skin issues, you might ask about that or see a dermatologist.

do you have a dog that's tested positive or have a friend who has a dog...?
my vet says if the dog has tested positive once, he will always test positive, so if he's showing signs or if i pull a tick off him, i can just go in and ask for the usual dose - 300 mg a day for 30 days.
interestingly enough, the dog's pills looks just the same as some we got from the pharmacy.
just a desparate thought...

You can buy doxycyline for your dog at any local co-op. I know this sounds crazy, but wouldn't it be the same doxy that we take? Something to consider, as sad as it sounds! What a shame that we would have to resort to such a thing.
I would just get to LLMD asap! In the meantime, maybe go to a walk in clinic or two.

I was very lucky today, I'm believing that someone up there was looking after me...
I walked in to my doctors surgery and asked to see my doctor (who is very hard to get perscriptions off as he is very opinionated and thinks I'm crazy, but was going to try my luck anyway)
Anyway, I sit down to wait, and as soon as I sit...another doctor calls my name...there must have been a mix up at the desk or something... But this doctor is very good and she is the doctor who ALWAYS has people waiting for hours on end to see her...it was very strange I was called straight away...I was confused.
Anyway, she was really helpful, we talked for a long time and gave me another month of doxy and said to come back in a few weeks for more, to track my progress. She's not Lyme literate in anyway or anything, but she was the nicest doctor I've come across, and that can restore your faith a bit in doctors! Especially since 99% I have seen have simply told me I'm nuts! She also made me have a ultrasound of my legs as I was experiencing thigh pain and she wanted to check my deep veins. All good there : ) But it was so nice to have a doctor actually care! y'know?
I'm also seeing a Lyme specialist in July who is coming out to Australia...so these abx will keep me going well and truly until I see the specialist...
Feeling some hope!
The abx have been working very well.
Oh, and also...just a question regarding probiotics...should I take them while I'm on abx? or wait until I've finished abx?
I have purchased some Yakult. Can I take this while on abx?
I also take Vit D3 daily which seems to be helping a lot! I take 1000 DUI in the morning and it seems to assist a lot, especially in my cardiac symptoms. Is there such thing as too much D3 though? I do live in Australia after all! Haha
And sorry for all the quesitons, but do you think it's smart to do a 2 week detox?
I'm on a full organic diet, no sugars, caffeine etc etc, lots and lots of lemon water each day and herbal teas....but I was going to do a full blown 2 week detox of broths and juices etc. Do you think this would be good, or bad?
I just need some opinions...

The probiotics are a must.
And you should be on something to prevent yeast.
Most of us take either Nystatin or Diflucan.
Yeast can be a big problem in Lyme.
Electrolyte replacement if you get sicker can help symptoms.
If you experience pains, Epsom salt soaks can help.
Glad to hear someone is coming out to help. Are they going to be teaching? Prayers for a easy road.

Take probiotics at least 2 hours away from antibiotics. Also stay out of the sun while on Doxy.
