Hello. Has anyone had a T.E.E.? I recently saw a cardiologist - just to ensure that my chest pain is from my lyme/bartonella and not anything else.

He did a echocardiogram, but could not get a good view of one portion of the heart.

He advised that a TEE allows a clear, detailed picture of the heart.

Is this test a good idea for someone with lyme? I hate getting anesthesia, but the test might be helpful.

Any experience? Thanks!

Hi there!

Yes! I have had a T.E.E

I had one about 4 months ago.

They thought I had a hole in my heart and valve regurgitation but wanted to have a closure look.

It's a very easy procedure.

They found I have trivial mitral valve regurgitation, but nothing more.

No hole in the heart.

Let me know how you go!

Take care.

You might want to read over this thread first. There is a standing echo that is described in Paul Cheney's work.

And, of course, ask your LLMD, especially about liver protection regarding the use of anesthesia. It can also affect ears. Liver protection is important but if you can get a different test like the standing up echo) without anesthesia, that would be best.

Thanks for the replies!

sian333: Glad that you got good results. Always a relief, right?

Keebler: I'll definitely take a look at the link you provided. I never knew there were different types of echos until yesterday.

I decided to hold off on the T.E.E. at my local hospital and see a cardiologist for a second opinion at Lankenau. They have much more modern equipment there. They may be able to see the entire heart with a more advanced echo.

Should a T.E.E. still be needed, I'd feel very confortable having it at this facility.

Thanks again!
