I'm a bit freaked out by the latest bruises on my body. First, know that I've more than usual bruises all my life, runs in the family-Von Willibrans (not sure of the spelling there) and more since I've been more than a few months on abx and babs meds.

Now I have the usual on my legs and arms but what's alarming me is the bruise on my upper arm that had a bite or a spot that bled in the middle and now on my upper leg a bruise that doesn't hurt but is purplish and spread out in dots and muddled looking places, not at all like the greenish or purplish ones I usually get.

Any help for what these might be?

Bartonella marks/dots/streaks are one of the initial things that come to mind. Do a search here and/or on the Internet in general to see some images.

You said you have Babs...how's your ferritin level; are you borderline or full-blown anemic?

Are you taking any blood thinners (or excess of supplements like circumin, Omega 3's, Wobenzyme, etc that may do so?

Just some brainstorming... hopefully others will post.

Babesia causes bruising. Sounds like you need to show these to your doctor. Hope you have an LLMD?

Thanks Dawn and Lyme2,

Good questions and suggestions! I am taking omega 3s, so I'll cut those out and see if my llmd will test ferritin levels and for anemia, if that's a separate test.

Will take pix and show them to my llmd. They may go away before my next appointment.
