boy, this dosage of flagyl and cipro are tough.

i am having severe sharp stabbing pains in my hands when i try to use them and bad cramps in my legs below the knees in the back.

i'm stopping the cipro. i've had problems with levaquin in the past.

can't take amoxy, morphine, and so many others.

so what drugs have you had to stop?

I had to stop Biaxin and Plaquenil. Biaxin just made me feel horrible for like a whole month, so doc took me off of it; and I had severe reactions to Plaquenil.

I had to stop minocycline, cipro, levaquin.....

I think that is it.

Oh and I hated rifampin. Didn't stop it but, it caused the worst cramps for me.

Hugs,

Geneal

Rifampin. That one I will never take again.

I refuse to take any quinolones due to increased nerve pain from them.

I've had to BRIEFLY stop nearly every abx due to severe herxing...but went right back on them once the herx was a little better.

I must be the only one who had no problems on Doxy. THe first week I felt a little queasy. But then afterwards I would take it on an empty stomach and be fine. Even the sun didn't really bother me.

Of course, now I"ve switched meds and don't feel as good.

I've had a heck of a time with Tindamax. I was pulsing it 4 days a week every other week. At first I did ok, but after awhile, I got severe migraines almost constantly and huge flare up of all my Lyme symptoms. I think I could have stayed with it, except for the migraines.

Are you sure it's not herxing? I had terrible pain when I started Levaquin but in the end it helped me a ton!!! It was about six weeks of pain, then steady improvement.

I could not take zithromax. After a couple months I stopped. Same with Tindamax. My LLMD had me continue for a couple months on both before we determined they weren't working for me and were only making me worse.

Ok, how do you people DO it? I herx on something for like, one day and I say "no more". Six weeks of hanging with a med that increased your pain, sixgoofy? You are WAY more woman than I will ever be.

Sophie.. you have to stick with it or you won't get well. Herxing is just part of getting well.

Six.. if you're talking to me.. you could be right... but I didn't have bartonella. I was taking levaquin for a terrible sinus infection two years ago.

It made my sciatica flare terribly and I knew levaquin's history with permanent side effects. So I refused to take it. I've also had trouble with Cipro and Avelox. Avelox affects my heart and so does Biaxin now.

Flagyl was my most hated drug, aside from Rifampin. Tindamax was no better. Doxy would come in 3rd. Hated that one too! I did OK on Doryx, a more expensive form of doxy. It's easier on the stomach.

I had to stop Rifampin due to low WBC.

Tindamax is hard on me, but I only took it 1 week a month, so I just dealt with it - although I did have to step back on amount.

I recently stopped Mepron after 7 weeks due to having one of the worst symptom weeks ever last week.

I will take it again, but for now, just taking Artemisinin, Doxy, Mycobutin, Zithromax.

Did I really just say "just taking"? It has def been too long of this crap.

Good luck to all.

Rifampin, Tindamax and zithro in combination brought me out in truly vicious hives.......don't think the Zithro was to blame.

Prior to that, Rifampin initially caused quite strong muscle pain, especially in shoulders and back.

I had to stop amoxy/probe because of the GI issues-I was worried I was going to get dehydrated. So for right now I'm back on the doxy-but the dose is too low-and the LLMD won't up it yet. I'm going to wait until Monday-because I'll be out of town this weekend and call them and see what they suggest.

I'm going to have to stop the doxy again though because of the sun issue. I work outside a lot during the summer so I just can't stand it.

I can't take zithromax-because one doctor thought I was allergic to it but I'm not convinced. I'm afraid biaxin is going to do it because the it's name ends in mycin-from what I've found on the internet. And since I might be allergic to azithromycin I'm worried.
