I was high on something called circulating immune complexes, also called C1Q immune complexes, and my LLMD at the time told me it could be from any longstanding, chronic infection (not just something like the flu that comes and goes).
I just read about cytokines, and it sounds like it would be similar to immune complexes, because an immune complex is an antigen attached to an antibody, forming a "complex." Though I didn't do enough reading to be sure they are similar. So you may want to correct me if I'm wrong here in assuming they are similar.
