I haven't been on lymenet for many years.... lots of reasons, having nothing to do with lymenet. But it's nice to be back, hello to my old friends that are still here.
I have a question for people about IV port selection. Our LLMD has suggested a port called a Passport, while the surgeon we saw today who is doing the procedure is planning to use a Portacath. According to him it's just a slightly different shape.... any experience with this issue?
we're specifically concerned about longevity of the port, although other things would be good to hear.
many thanks flossie

You might be able to get more opinions and personal experiences on Passport vs Portacath by visiting a cancer support group website.

Yes that's a good suggestion Sammy. I have a port called the power port. I have not had any problems with it. I have had it for over 6 months.
I did not do much research on which types were out there. When my non LLMD approved the port I got the procedure before he changed his mind.
