So I have been taking this since April. Suppose to work my way up to 3 times a day but never made it past 2 times a day.
When I took them too close together I felt horrible. Though now I am not sure if it was that or the herbs that I was taking at the same time? It's just hard to fit 3 times a day into my schedule for antibiotics.
So I am wondering if anyone has tried to take 2 pills at once and if they did ok on that? I am afraid to try it. They are 250mg pills.

I took 250 mg pills 3 times per day. That's how I got rid of lyme.
I took them just like the lyme doc told me to--3 times per day. I don't think it is a good idea to take 2 at one time. It won't have the same effect in the body. You want to keep the level of flagyl consistent in your blood every hour of the day so that you are able to kill the cyst form of lyme.
So, that means you have to take them as close to every 8 hours as possible. If you don't, the blood level of flagyl will drop, and it won't work.
Evidently, about 8 hours after taking the pill, the blood level of the flagyl drops too low (the body gets rid of it by filtering it out of your blood), so then you have to take another pill to keep up the killing level. Taking 2 at once would cause a higher blood level at first, but still, it would only be high enough to kill cysts for 8 hours.
That's my non-medical explanation. The docs know how long it takes the body to eliminate each of these meds. Based on that, they tell us to take it 3 times per day, twice per day, once a day, etc.
I made this a priority since getting rid of lyme was a priority with me.
Medicine has to be taken a certain way to work. So, take one flagyl when you get up and another when you go to bed and the 3rd one half way between the 2. (If you work, you may have to carry that pill with you and take it at work. Just keep a small supply at work for this purpose.) That will give you your best chance of getting rid of this horrendous disease.
It has now been over 5 years since I completed my lyme treatment and I am still symptom-free, enjoying my life. I have the same life I had before lyme disease!! I was a VERY obedient patient ! Yeah!!!

My problem is just that I don't know when to take my herbs & probiotics if I take these every 8 hours? There's just not enough hours to split all this up.
I have insomnia so am up at night. I try to sleep about 8 hrs once I go to sleep so I might not get up until 1 or 2pm some days. But might not go to bed until 3, 4 or even 5am.
I usually take one when I get up and then 1 about 8 hrs later. But then before bed I take my detox herbs & probiotics.
So if I take the flagyl before bed then when do I take the probiotics? And can I take the flagyl with these herbs? Too confusing! LOL

Oh just did the math. If I take one at like 2pm, then at 10pm I would have to then take one at 6am (when I am sleeping) LOL I am not sure how others do this? sigh..

I take 500mg every 12 hours. I pulse it 3 days every 2 weeks.
