I know that the tetracyclines when they expire they start to degrade into toxic metabolites... but is the same true for the macrolides/biaxin???
I have a biaxin prescription that is 1 year past its expiry date and need to know if it is safe to take??? I have no other way of getting a new prescription so it is very important for me to know!!!
Someone help me please!!!

It's hard to know. I've used meds that old before but they may start to lose their effectiveness.
You could try ordering another round of Biaxin over the net. It may be somewhat expensive but at least you'll be using fresher stuff.
