Thank you, Sammy! I don't actually have an appt. with my pcp for tomorrow. She's been out of town during all of this so tomorrow she is hopefully going to return my call so we can talk about my Lyme issues.

I agree with Sammy, I don't see why it would be a problem to get local anesthetic, unless you are really fragile right now. Lidocaine is the same as novacaine; and most likely that is what they would use.

- Some numbing agents contain Epinephrine - and that can really create stress for the adrenals. Ask for the kind without Epinephrine. -

Dear TN Kim, Good luck on your surgery! We will be thinking of you! It looks fairly safe. As Keebler said, the Epinephrine could be an issue for some. I have had instances when I had dental work done where my heart raced and pounded after the injection. My adrenals may be seriously out of sorts, though.

Hi - I'm just seeing this now, so I know it's kinda last minute discussion, but here's my experience with my lipoma surgery:
the lipoma continued to grow afterwards - it was a flat irregular one and not a contained one. So it matters what kind of lipoma you've got, I think, in terms of surgery success.
And here's the good news: I now can stop lipomas nonsurgically!
I follow the latest medical news on a lipoma site, and the researcher there suggested that everyone try drinking noni juice and taking grapeseed extract capsules. They're both anti-inflammatory antioxidants.
So I tried taking a little of both, and they work! They shrink lipomas. If I don't take them, the lipomas grow.
I drink a pure Tahitian noni juice and take the Jarrow brand OPC+95 of grapeseed extract capsules. I break open the 100mg capsules and take 50mg in the morn and eve.
I believe the medical researcher is going to get to the bottom of the mystery regarding them. Her name is Dr Karen Herbst and she is at the VA hospital in San Diego.
I think I'll pm you - Robin

Thank you all for your input and well wishes! I am anxious to get this thing out as it causes me discomfort quite a bit and I'd also just like the surgeon to see it ... just to be 100% sure that is is indeed just fatty tissue!
