this board has been a great help to me in trying to figure out what is wrong with me... I have had multiple lyme test and am waiting on Igenex results.

Had minor improvements on ABX for 9 weeks and anti yeast lyme diet. went off ABX to retest through Igenex.

Going to see Dr. C at the end of the month and hopefully get some answers. University dr's have diagnosed me as CFS (I am 23 years old, was physically active, and not overweight, to me CFS is pretty much a death sentence) Other than that high epstein barr titers were the only other thing.

I have been reading a lot about yeast though and the problems that can come with it. I have a lot of them and have all the strings in my spit with the at home test. My tounge is also covered with a thick white substance.

Now Im wondering which products people have used for yeast and what has worked. I have heard good and bad things about threelac... some people have claimed immediately feeling better. But I also have read it contains some bad bacteria that can give you the same bacteria as strep.

Syntol (i think thats how its spelled is another product I have heard people get good results on...And safer than threelac.

I was wondering if I could get your opinions on them.

For one thing...keep the meds that KILL YEAST and those that help PREVENT yeast in separate categories..since they are.

I much prefer THERALAC to Threelac... VERY different product. Theralac is awesome. ( www.theralac.com )

VSL#3 is considered to be WAY up there on effectiveness.

I like Theralac, Ultimate Flora or Body Biotics ( www.upwardquest.com )

I purchased today (on recommendation) Bluebonnet brand Acidophilus. I've heard many people say it is good.

Before I found that one... the one I was looking for, I bought Enzymatica's Pro-Bio. So now I have two new ones to explore!

PS.. The ones I mentioned all PREVENT yeast. I'm no longer on abx, but I still have issues with yeast. Hate it!! [Mad]

My LLmd likes bluebonnet very much, I got it from my local health store, also liquid nystatin works good on mouth yeast & internal, I am also on 2 weeks of diflucan just prior to my 2 week IV invanz/ tindamax. It seems that yeast is higher priority now. So far my mental fog has eased a lot but fatigue is constant. I also would get these awful stringy pieces of slyme from my mouth/tongue. This hole thing just is awful, but we need to stay positive & focusd to beat this crud! Good luck :-)

After many years of a long battle on and off abx for all sorts of infections (before lyme dx), six weeks of daily diflucan was needed. But I had not known then about OLE (Olive leaf extract).

I bow down before OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT. It totally prevented candida for me by my starting it before starting doxycycline when I was on that for 2 months (the longest I've been on abx - for various reasons).

I used White Tiger Myrolea-B combination formula. Along with a good eating plan, of course. And probiotics, always. But timed away from OLE.

I have great success with Candex. It's a natural, enzyme-based product that basically eats the yeast, so there's no die off. Take on empty stomach with full glass of water. I take religiously every day. It's been very helpful to me. Gotta stay ahead of the yeast. It just complicates everything. Need to go with a clean, whole-food based diet. Good luck!
