Everything is driving me nuts. I just started my treatment, but this has been building a long time. I want to break stuff and tear up the house. I'm so mad at my husband for leaving a huge mess I can't stand it. This uncontrollable agitation and anger is real. I went to group therapy tonight...all good. But all of a sudden BAM, here I go! I work with mental health professionals & therapists, but I'm losing control. Bad as I hate to, I think I'll have to go back on Prozac. I don't want to .....has anyone else experienced the intense rage I feel?

I think there are a lot better options than the Pro.
A mild sedative-a pinch of valium or something should stop them.
You are in a good position---at least you can see what is happening.
I so fear for others who don't know they are really sick...
Maybe when you feel it rearing up you could go soak for an hour or 2 and let it pass. God Bless.

It is part of the mental madness of bartonella. When you treat it, it gets worse for a while. I would plunge into despair and depression after the anger. Be sure to warn everyone you know that this is not the real you.
I don't think antidepressants are going to help much but you could try St. John's Wort instead.

Well, there are so many responses that I could have Bartonella. The doc really thought Lyme. I think he said that the meds I'm on will attack Bartonella if I have it. Theky aren't screening me for it.
Perhaps I'm just so stressed out after having such a horrible week....so many crisis calls, all difficult, high anxiety. I actually feel halfway good today. I don't know.....I'll just try to de-stress the best I know, as I don't have a script of Prozac left.

i havent been diagnosed but suspect bartonella because of the rage.today i woke up with that feeling. i went nuts out of control cursing my boyfriend out for not kissing me when he woke up?!?!
he took me home and i jumped into my car and almost ran him off the road. this is NOT ME. sometimes i feel like the hardest part is feeling so sick (mentally) and trying to convince everyone that its not you! huh. i know how you feel!
since treatment 500mg twice a day biaxin and 50mg zoloft/day and 75during the week before my period... i've had a recovery period after these episodes, before i believe i was in a constant state of anxiety and my personality was gone. everything bothered me. it wasnt me.
anyone know how i can avoid these episodes of rage and desperation???

The hair trigger temper could also just be caused by having too much to cope with.
Your doctor could be right that you have lyme, but many of us got more than one germ from the tickbite, so you might have bartonella or something else on top of the lyme.

Yes, you're absolutely right lou. I have lyme & bart at the very least. Tested negative for everything a few times. But I had a tick, a bull's eye, and symptoms so there's no question in my mind.
