My sis told me that channel 5 Boston is airing a special at 7:00 PM tonight (now) on Lyme disease...
I think it's WCVB TV...but this is usually on at 7:30 PM and I don't see it in the program guide.

Is it a repeat? They did an excellent special on Lyme Disease some time ago.

I just checked; it is posted in it's entirety on Lyme Friends. It is on page 4 of Videos, and it is entitled "Ticked Off."
It looks like it came from Vimeo, so you might be able to find it there as well. Or you can view it at www.lymefriends.org.

WMUR tv Channel 9 in the greater Boston area ran a program called NH CHronicle Living With Lyme Disease NHs Exploding Epidemic. It was an extended one hour program from 7-8 tonight. My daughter's psychiatrist was interviewed for this, as well as Dr. H from the seacoast and Dr. Y from the Lakes region. Seems silly to keep their full names out, when they were just on tv, but I will comply
I don't know how to post the link to the entire story, and it is copyrighted.
It illuminated both sides of the long term abx debate, and followed three cases here in NH, where I am told we now have the highest rate per capita of lyme cases, in the country.
I did not learn anything brand new, but I believe this was an excellent program for the community at large. It featured an herbalist who had the most compelling statement...we all need to get on the same page. ID, Insurance, CAM, naturopaths, traditional MDs.
Of course there was an entomologist who went over all the things to do to prevent a tick bite....that's is just not where my head is at, that horse is out the barn personally.
my 16 yo is 8 weeks into the first 90 day course of abx after going almost 2 years with symptoms and no diagnosis/tx. Neuropsych eval to address school modifications in september is being started next week, with Dr. S from the show.
