It seems like I have some sort of a herx every 2 weeks. Symptoms worsen. One of the main symptoms is soreness, pain, weakness in my neck, shoulders and down my arms. Even pushing an empty shopping cart today was an effort. Sleeping in one position becomes painful for my upper body and I need to shift every so often.
Is this normal? Has anyone else had this? I was so much better last week. Traveled to Indiana by car for 2 days with the kids there and back and didn't feel close to this...
I didn't really have any symptoms prior to diagnosis other than major left sided weakness. I'm hoping these are all signs that the abx are working.
Oh, I also have a small bumpy rash on my forehead. Its not itchy but its been there for quite a few weeks. I've been on abx about a month and a half.

My lyme doc told me babesiosis has a 14-day cycle and a 7-day cycle. I experienced both eventually.
You get terribly sick exactly every 14 days--or 7. For me, it was extreme weakness of the entire body and a mental state of total doom! It was horrible.
Are you treating babesiosis right now or just lyme?
You need to report the 14-day flares to your lyme doc. When treating one disease, often another one will begin to act up. So, that may be what is happening.
Maybe doc will add babesiosis meds to your protocol now.
Let us know.

Thanks! I will be calling my doc in the next week.
I have wondered if I have babesiosis or bart but I never specifically asked if those were tested or what he thought.
