My LLMD has been against treating for parasites. All of a sudden at my last appoint I guess they have changed their minds.

He called in Alinia 500 mg for 5 days. I really wouldn't think that would be long enough to do anything.

For anyone who used Alinia, how long did you take it did you get any good results from it? And i failed to mention, that's 500 mg 2x a day.

While I was taking it, it was with antibiotics, 2 weeks of alinia, 2 weeks of tinidazole, and back and forth like that for a while. Got the impression this was my LLMD's standard way to do it.

canefan....how did it help. Did you visibly get rid of any parasites, or you just felt better?

My guess is that for only 5 days, your doctor is simply trying to clean out the GI parasites. I don't know for sure, but maybe 5 days is long enough if you're just going for the GI bugs?

Longer term would be needed if you want to hit babesia.

i was on alinia for 20 days. 3 times/da. at around day 18 i though i was going to die. i stopped for 2 days, then took the rest and it went better.

i had "stuff coming out of my face and lymph areas. granted i had doing artemesinin and core, but my sweats went away, heat intolerance got much better, decreased thyroid meds in half. it was well worth it.

Thanks for your replies.

I have been getting bad stomach cramps in my lower stomach, not sure if it's from the alinia or not. Never really had them before.

I think I have heard of people getting stomach cramps from it, so it is probably the Alinia. Along the same lines, I think people stopped it because of the stomach cramps. Hopefully it'll get better.

I would get nauseous from it, and vomit sometimes. That is one of the reasons I finally stopped it. But no cramping, just nausea/vomiting.

Does anyone have one capsule of alinia or albendazole that you would be willing to send me, so I can energy test myself to see which is better for me? Or if my body really would benefit from it. If so , please pm me. I will need to ask my LLMD for a script...as they will not give me one if I do not pass a standard lab stool test for parasites. But may give me one if I come in with visible parasites collected! Just want to know which one tests best for me to try.

Thanks
lp

Hey keltyl, I took my first dost of Alinia this evening. Supposed to do a 5day trial to see if it helps relieve my Babesia symptoms.

Do you have Babesia too? Are you noticing any improvements with it yet?
