I was just doing some reading on oil pulling. I had never heard of this previously. One website warned against performing oil pulling while on antibiotics. Any thoughts?

Do a search here for oil pulling and you will find a wealth of posts on the topic.
I've never heard not to do it while on abx though, that's a new one for me.

My husband loves oil pulling (he doesn't have Lyme). He feels that it cleans his teeth. My 22 year old non-Lymie daughter loves it, too because it gets rid of her bad breath when she has it. I never got much from it myself.

I highly recommend trying it. I've been doing it for about a year now.
I had really bad teeth, gum, and mouth bone problems, but since I've been pulling oil they have all gotten better.
My periodontist had a list of things he wanted to do, but now he said it isn't necessary and I'm in a hold position. My last cleaning appointment, which was about a month ago - he commented that my gums were a bit tighter around my teeth!! It was good to hear!
It also has whitened my teeth and I no longer have a bad taste in my mouth. Did the same for my mother.
You've probably already visited this website, but just in case, here is a good link:
It could also be the reason my Lyme/Babesia/BTO is not as bad as it could be. My doctor's were pretty surprised to see how well I am after seeing the initial lab reports. They said looking at my labs I would be a nine on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worst.
I have not heard to not pull oil while on antibiotics, but have wondered about that myself. I cannot find anything on that subject as of yet.
I have slowed it down to a couple times a week, but once I'm off antibiotics all together, I will go back to every morning.

I've tried it for a little while, using sesame seed oil. It reduces gum pain for me.

I forgot to mention that my gums also grew between my teeth. They were starting to recede or melt away or something odd, but once I started pulling oil, they started growing between the teeth.
A lot people don't believe it or haven't had success with it, but a lot of other people have.
Good Luck!

I've done it a few times...once when I had an infection from a bad tooth (that needs to come out but can't afford it). It had a huge abcess near it, did the oil pulling and as soon as I was done abcess was gone and so was the pain from it, it was amazing and I will swear by it now.

There's a lot of info on oil pulling here from previous posts.
I first heard about it as an adjunct to dental health.
I've also experienced the benefits and do recommend it.
I have seen the benefits in dental patients who have used oil pulling and also have discussed with colleagues their observation regarding such benefits, just like rks describes.
My understanding is that the oil pulls out toxins that are in the fluid under the gums.
(not sure if that's right or not)
The way I seee it, it works like the toxin binders many of us take.
Since they don't discriminate between good (medicine, supplements) & bad (toxic die off), we are instructed to take them 2 hours away from abx or other supplements.
This is what I've been following with regard to oil puling. Just doing it 1st thing in the morning when there's nothing in my system that I want to keep there. Then I take any supplements, medicine after that.

Others. The main ones I've heard about are sunflower and coconut oils. I would Google oil pulling and read about it.

Without knowing much about it, I've read about using sunflower or sesame oil, and I like the results I get with the sesame oil.
