Tick popsicles. Tick-Off is a registered trade mark (FDA approved, patent pending and backed by American Camping group) on new product that delivers a measured dose of a freezing chemical to turn ticks into a popsicle so they can be removed.
Introduced at the 2009 Dog Groomers Expo in Hershey PA, it delivers an automatic dose of refrigerant and literally freezes a tick into a popsicle.

I would be worried about the tick reacting by holding on tighter- or trying to burrow in more to get away from the insult. I had to have a tick surgically removed it was so embedded.

Yum - ticksicles...hope they come with flavors. I'd serve them with ant-ipasto.

It does not make sense. Before they actually freeze, they can still act.
I think it would really make them just as mad as if it were a match being held to them. Just make them spew forth their contents the instant they became irritated. Freezing can cause a burning sensation, just as if a hot match.
I bet it would leave a few mouth parts if they tighten up and grab on tighter before freezing.
What's wrong with tweezers? That's sneaking up and grabbing them.
Seems false advertising to say it will prevent transmission - the instant a tick bites, infection can be transmitted. Not all the bad boy germs stay back in the gut all the time. This is just a way to make money, further trash the environment with the waste materials of the little canisters . . . and serve to prevent treatment from a false sense of security:

Not possible. But, oh, wait - there's more: it is FDA registered, oh, my! Didn't know I should have tried to register my tweezers.

Safely ? Uh.
I also wonder about the canisters - in hot cars on hot days - put in the trash / fire ? Forgotten on a hot beach? Would they go flying ? Most likely.
Can't take on an airplane as contents are under pressure.
But at $18. for 1.5 oz. this will not likely go flying off the shelves.
I'm sure the inventor is a very nice man but his tick experts likely did not properly inform him in all matters. -

Holy #$%*&!!! It's unbelievable! The sad thing is that people who don't know better, which is 99.9% of people, will believe this nonsense.
The only saving grace is that, as Keebler said, at that price, it probably won't sell a ton. We hope anyway. As it certainly would give people a false sense of security.
I like the ticksicles with ant-ipasto, Robin; sounds like a good meal for Bum Steere and friends!
