I searched this topic and found the above conversation. Lots of people talking about it but no explanation.
Can anyone tell me WHY we, I, you get the physical malaise so badly?
And I'm NOT talking about depression. I'm talking horrifically sore, every cell depleted, feel exhausted even lying down, disconcerting malaise, without treatment, with treatment--what is the process that causes this?

Toxins...mitochondria (cell energy) damaged, hormones depleted, unable to process nutrients, for starters
Hope others add more

Hi Sick Puppy... I know what you mean. That is what has concerned me the most... like I could sleep all day...
And even getting up was really difficult. After a great nights sleep. It is like tiredness to your bones.
I would say that the thing that has been remarkable for me has been the sauna when I could do it and most recently, coffee enemas. Never did I think I would be an advocate, but for the first time, I have energy in about a year. It is one thing to deal with pain with energy and another to deal with it -- without. The second being miserable.
Lots of info on coffee enemas. Do a search and see what you think-- Best--

In essence for me I think it is because I already
have multiple chemical sensitivity- exposure years
ago and then throw in all these drugs and
toxins from die off... and I become TOXIC... and TIRED! Its no wonder...
Don't give up... See if what I mentioned helps... you might be a believer too! Look up Gerson Therapy for cancer-- It is really interesting!

Thanks for all of your kind and thoughtful posts everyone.
I had loads of ideas today and wanted to execute them but had to lie down every 2 hours--of course only after pushing myself further than I should have. Trapped in this body with those mean bugs!
I'm glad to hear of it resolving. Uhg.

Cell communication...
Our Mitochondria use sugars to produce ATP/energy... during that process they also produce reactive molecules (these have two category types) These ions are essential in keeping your basic chemical makeup balance in check.
Our bodies are 70% saline solution...for a reason, we are run on chemical electrical charges. Those charges are carried by reactive molecules that are called redox messenger's and those messenger's are what the ATP by-product are.
Now remember we also have two basic reactions that MUST happen when we have an immune response, first is the -Oxidation/Inflammation Response when our bodies first see damage or cellular stress. Secondly- Anti-Oxidation/Inflammatory Reduction....or commonly known as the repair period. These immune responses are LITERALLY turned on by the second set of redox messenger's produced by your Mitochondria during ATP synthesis.
This is baseline chemical fact when it comes to our nervous system and immune system to running themselves, ie: baseline.
So, when we age...our mitochondria start make less energy and redox messenger's. As time goes on that means we can't stop oxidation or start and finish our immune response as well and it also means that your chemical electrical charge from cell to cell isn't functioning as well and we start to age faster....
Throw a disease like Lyme into the mix and guess what happens....MAJOR Mitochondrial Dysfunction.....MAJOR>
1)Less energy 2)Less control of the immune response/higher toxin load (in fact your anti-oxidants can't reduce oxidants without redox messenger's, ie: full blown oxidation no matter how many anti-oxidants you take) 3) Less cell to cell communication, ie: your cells can't talk...that includes your synapses because that is electro-chemical charging
So....the baseline to all healing and chemical balance is....
Reactive Molecules/Redox Messengers
It's not surprising that we would have neuro-toxic shocks from Lyme....not at all.
So, use multiple detox methods, supplement with l-glutathione pre-cursors, feed the mitochondria and supply redox messengers.

I am reading this thread with great interest as the fatigue is mind numbing. I sleep all day when given the chance. No energy. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. Thank you for starting this! Im going to have to look into the suggestions as well. Thanks!

I think that is why lyme is often misdiagnosed as chronic fatigue. I was researching chronic fatigue online when I made the discovery that I actually had lyme disease. I got over it with treatment. I feel fortunate that I was only really sick like that for a few months. After that I had to deal primarily with the mental emotional malaise.
