Hi, I have been on 75 mg Rifampin and 500 mg Biaxin for the last couple weeks. Last Tues, I added Milk Thistle (just 1/4 of a capsule).

By Friday, I was crying like a baby from so much pain. Also, increased muscle weakness. I cannot be sure if it was the Milk Thistle or abx or the two things working together. Needless to say I have stopped all three. (I have placed several calls to LLMD, hoping to hear back soon.

Question: could Milk Thistle cause such agony? And I do mean agony. I did not notice this type of pain until I added it. Oh, I am also treating with DMSA, three days on then eleven off. It had been about six days since my last DMSA day. (VERY high lead levels, also mercury.)

Any advice or input would be great. Thx.

Thats a good question.

I also had a reaction to a liver detox cap that had milk thistle in it. It caused me to be very nauseous with stomach cramps. I never had any problems with it before. Just that one time!
