I know many of you use one or two of the Cowden herbs...but has anyone out there done the full 6 months. What happened?

Are there old posts about how useful it was?

I did the full deal two years agoand I didn't realize it had helped any until I had been off over a year. So I decised to go back on it but they changed the protocol. It used fewer doses on a faster track. I couldn't do it though as I herxed too much and it really made me so much worse. I finally figured out it was the high dose of samento that was the culprit. This was this past spring and I haven't tried to go back on it yet. I will try to find out if they still do the longer protocol. It is time consuming and its benefits are not as much as I had hoped but I guess something is better than nothing which is what a lot of others give.

I did it. At first it helped probably because of all the detox herbs. I had to add back abx after a few months most likely because of coinfections. I declined overall on the protocol.

I continued with some of the herbs that were helpful.

I don't really do "the protocol" as it's listed. I just use some of the herbals....taking whatever seems to help.

I like Enula for babesia. Samento seems to give me a boost. I try not to overthink it....I just use them as part of my healing, and don't get obsessed with the schedules of all of it.

The schedule seems daunting, so I would rather just pick-and-choose what seems to help. But you need to be pretty in touch with your body to be able to do that.

I think it would be helpful for people interested in trying Cowden if people made it clear whether they did the original protocol or the newer [and apparently more successful] Condensed Cowden.

I did the "original" protocol. Then I switched to "condensed" after six months, but it was the same herbs, just fewer of them.

I did a few months of the condensed and so did the kids. Then, I started slowing it down. . just a few drops instead of the big ramp up to 30 drops. I found that to be more effective, especially if I muscle test for the correct herbs for the time.

My husband alternates cumanda and banderol. . no more than 3 drops. Sometimes it is really hard (herx). We all seem to get more herxing with LESS of the herbs, rather than doing the full condensed protocol. Less is more. And the detox seemed to overload the kids. TOO much.
