are we just making it weak and chasing it around but we will never be rid of it?
From most things I have read, this bacteria is the smartest and most evasive around. So are we just trying to kill it, maybe even making it stronger?
I am just feeling hopeless right now.
I am not as bad off as many of you but I am afraid of getting worse.

You still have chicken pox, strep, and other pathogens in your body, but your immune system is in control. That's where you need to get with Lyme.
I am completely well from Lyme. It has to be still there, reason tells us that, but I have no symptoms. I was one who was very ill and bedridden from the disease.
It's all about not only controlling infection, but making your body strong enough to be healthy.

ILADS tx with a LLMD is more than "chasing around."
We have to rebuild our immune defenses, adrenal function, endocrine system... It's a multi-prong approach.
I don't believe that trying to kill LBb will "make it stronger." I do believe that attacking the synergistic co-infections will weaken all the nasty parasites. Break up the invasive gangs!
Sorry you're feeling worse this month, BackinStOlaf. But that could be a sign that you've killed some parasites and your body's own defenses are making a showing for once!
Try to be optimistic. Your body responds to every thought you think.
Try listing all the good things happening in your life. Can you hear birdsong or see any butterflies? Do you have some tasty fresh produce?
Here's a great article you may wish to re-read. web page "Long-Term Antibiotic Therapy Improves Persistent Symptoms"
When it comes to Borrelia, Babesia, Bartonella, Candida, Mycoplasma, etc, think: Know thine enemy; then kill it!

lymemila- when you relapse, how long do you treat for again?

Since there is no accurate test to prove it is gone (or even that it is there in the first place), and since relapse or chronic symptoms happen a lot in spite of lengthy treatment, I think we have to treat it as if it is still there, and take good care of ourselves even after getting well.
It could be possible to cure it sometimes with our current methods, but there is no way to know right now.
However, there are people who get well and do not relapse at all, or who haven't so far and it's several years later. So permanent or long-term remission is very much possible.
