Well, here I go again. I have another "bump" but this time it is on the right side of my groin .... a bit less "personal" than the last one!

This one is tender to the touch and I can actually see it a bit as well. It is almost to the groin area where

the leg connects to the body. That entire area is sore as crazy!! It really concerns me because a year ago on

my birthday. (just my luck) I had a heart catherization done because of a problematic stress test.

Although everything was fine with my test, I had a permanent clamp called the Star Close put in my femoral

artery! It is RIGHT where I am hurting!!! I am so scared that it has gotten infected or something! I will

totally freak out if it has to be removed or something! Can anyone enlighten me at all on this?

Scared here!

Well, now I feel achy and a bit feverish. Checked and I am at 99.0 which for me is low-grade fever.

I would say if your temp keeps going up, you should seek medical attention.

Nothing to mess around with ok? Be smart and get things ck'd... only you know how bad it's getting.

Yea ... thanks for replying!!! Everyone must be busy or feeling bad tonight too! [Wink]

I'm just feeling poorly and getting emotional now as well which doesn't help. I just really

don't need a problem with this "thing" in my artery! [Frown]

I will definitely keep a watch on the fever and not mess around with this! Just would dread

having to go through the whole "Lyme" story ... ya know? [Frown]

It could be any number of things.....infected hair folicle, swollen/clogged gland, etc. Try not to worry too much, but do get it checked out just for peace of mind. Be well, Tammy

Yea but I had one a few weeks ago on the other side .... not likely a hair follicle .... but

and not two in a month's time when I've never had them before. I know it is a Lyme thing for

sure just wondering how "serious" since it's hurting right where that stupid metal clip is!!!

This is what I have inside my leg

Borrelia love injuries. I think they hop right to it like a meal on a platter...It may be hitting it but best to be sure.

Hi Kim,

Although I don't quite understand why a permanent Star Close was placed in your femoral artery, I think you need to be evaluated -- either by your attending doc or in the ER.

Hearing symptoms like what you describe, makes me a bit leery of thrombosis (blood clot). If you have thrombosed your Star Close or if it is infected, then you need medical attention as soon as possible.

did you just rescently start flagyl? If you are herxing with flagyl, your temp could go up.

Also, the groin lump...it could be a swollen lymph node possibly

After reading that link, I would be getting to the ER to have it checked out. If I read it right, it could possibly get infected.

Well, the 3rd sleepless night for me even after taking my sleep-aid! *sigh*

I even got up in the middle of the night and took a hot Epsom salt bath for all the aches.

That is what finally put me to sleep for an hour or so then back awake again.

I don't feel feverish so far this morning and no more painful in my groin but still very tender.

I will keep a close eye on the area and will definitely get to a doctor or ER if necessary!

Hopefully this is just a swollen "Lyme" gland and the area is extra sensitive because of the

StarClose device. The device is an artery closure device that is placed to make bleeding

stop more quickly after a femoral artery puncture. I had a heart catheterization done on

my birthday in 2009. I was having chest pains and had some questionable activity on a stress

test done while in the hospital. Later the doctor said that it was something that sometimes

shows up in women but needed to be checked in case it was in fact a blockage.

So, I got to go through the absolute fear of wondering if I had a blockage and knowing that

my femoral artery was going to be punctured. Oh, and I felt the puncture because they keep you

awake during the procedure. Supposed to numb it but only the cath in the artery was "numb" ... I

felt the darned puncture and it HURT!!!! The numbing agent is crazy though. It felt just like

I had "peed" all over myself! LOL! The doc even said that to me and I was so "relieved" that

I hadn't "relieved" myself on the OR table! *snicker*

OK ... just rambling ... a side effect of no sleep!

Hugs,
Kim
