umm, i have this external itching down there. ya know... i dig and scratch like an old dog.
is there anything i can use for external vaginal itching? seems to be mostly at night.
now i do admit to showering with soap or whatever is handy. but i rinse very well.
but oh the itching.
i had to stop the diflucan. i had been taking it for a couple of weeks and i started getting pain the liver and upper back area. so i got scared and stopped it. the liver pain is now stopped.
i'm just taking the ole right now.
is there something over the counter that will work??

Go to the health food store and ask for help! They will have natural remedies that usually work.

Have you tried just the over the counter meds for that?? I've used it before and it worked pretty good.
Also, I have to use Dove soap. It's the only kind I can use. I've also heard of a lot of people only being able to use Ivory, like Six.
Hope you get this resolved soon because I know that's miserable.

it's the itching on the skin outside not internally. in fact, it's all over the skin outside. it gets red and irritated from me scratching.
i know there are things like vagasil that says it's for external itching, but i don't know if it would work.

yes-the vagasil cream works a little bit. I've used it for external itching before and it did provide some relief.
THey make something that comes in wipes instead of a messy cream. It helps with the itching and soothes the skin-I think it's mainly for yeast infections but I don't see why it wouldn't work externally as well.

Dear randibear, The Vagasil does help! Sometimes I get desperate, too! This is miserable. I am loaded with yeast, and the itching is worse in the evening for me also. Another thing that helps is keeping shaved in that area. Having numerous allergies, Dove is the only soap I ever have been able to use for bathing.

Sometimes itching like you described (especially at night and you itch in your sleep sometimes until you bleed) is Lichen Schlerosis - it doesn't sound like yeast.
Lichen Schlerosis had been linked to Lyme Disease. It's easily treated with topical steroids to the point where you won't have symptoms.

I had this. I wanted to dig right through the skin!
Wash everyday and apply JOJOBA OIL (from Now) liberally as needed.
I promise you it'll clear up. Mine did after trying EVERYTHING!!! I continue to use it for maintenance.

Take a warm bath with a cup of vinegar mixed in. It sounds crazy but I read it somewhere once and it works wonders!!!

Boric acid suppositories is the best thing that has every happened to me. I make my own.
Last year I had 6 infections down there. This was before I got dx with Lyme.
Since starting treatment and the boric acid, I haven't had any.
