What causes this? Why is it worse on some days rather on other? Does anybody else get this?

My cardio says ok to my heart--no problems that she could see. I already take magnesium and drink water.

This stuff is scary.

You may need MORE magnesium. I take over 1,000 mg a day. You can take to bowel tolerance and then back down from that.

FISH OIL, TURMERIC are also good helpers.

This explains a lot - and offers good suggestions on what else can help:

for me, there is a direct corrolation between my pain and my heart rate. I have simular issues, one night I put my heart monitor on and was 160 bpm just laying in bed!!! crazy. I have hovered around 100 and now am in the high 80s. for a while I was in the low 70's which is beautiful!!
have you checked your C-reactive protien? Omega3 is important here too, and for what its worth...yes mag is very important but if your potassium/magnesuim gets out of balace the heart takes it hard, so you MD is a great idea!
Did you know about the trick of holding your breath for a moment or so it can help bring your heart rate down...its temp but it can bring relief and breathing of course!
just wanted to chime in...you are not alone!!

I just want to give my experiences with heart rate.

I wear a heart rate monitor whilst working out and when my air hunger and babs symptoms flare my heart rate goes through the roof with very minimal exersion. Recovery times lengthen until I cant finish my hour set at all.

It becomes impossible to train especially any weight training exercises which involve standing up. I have an alarm which goes off if I go over 175 bpm. It beeps like crazy before I get 10 usually simple reps done.

Over time I have come to realize this is because my body is starved of oxygen and my heart is trying to work overtime to compensate.

For me its babesia without a doubt.

I have this symptom too. My heart rate has been steady over 120 since I started to get really sick. PCP did a bunch of tests, all normal.

The other night I was laying in bed and I thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest, I could the beats- 145bpm. But as others have mentioned I was also having really bad shortness of breath at the time.

I tested negative for babs and bart but I don't think those were correct. I did test positive for Mycoplasma and C. Pneumonie though so don't know which one is causing my shortness of breath.

I take mag but maybe not enough....
