Daughter started on liquid Nystatin for yeast in throat. Supposed to do four times a day.

Has been only doing twice a day and has diarreah two days after starting.

According to the doctor she is supposed to take one teas, swish, gargle and swallow only a bit, repeat three more times a day.

Is this common to get the runs, she is only swallowing a bit of the med?

Thanks

you know i have two bottles of that stuff. however, when i read it's 50 percent sugar, i went back and got lozenges. the nystatin seemed to make me much worse.

i was supposed to take a teaspoon 3-4 times a day and swallow. tastes like bananas doesn't it?

i don't recall diahhrea but then i'm usually in the bathroom anyway!!

i really hope it helps her, if not, get the lozenges.

I didnt know about the lozenges but I know my LLMD gave me tablets. I have been taking abx for week (due to SERVERE infection and sinus) and will have to start back the tablets today, as I am pretty sure i am developing yeast infection ):

I cant remember either if it caused diahhrea but it seems like it did. You might try calling the pharmancy.

Good luck
