Afternoon,

Just started lariam. Wow, what a ride last night was.

I'm also on doxy about 400mg daily to keep the lyme in check.

I'm starting the bart treatment in a few weeks.

Can I be herxing still from just adding doxy?

Any insight into this crazy journey would be good. Janice

In the beginning I occasionally had sharp stabbing pain, just like being stabbed, but I can't tell you what is happening to you. I hope it is a herx.

I don't know if this is the same thing you're describing but it felt more like wasp stings to me.

I haven't been diagnosed with bart, don't really fit many of the symptoms. I just figured it was a herx.

I also get these sharp, stabbing pains-

They run down my arms, legs, into my ankles, wrists, etc.

I was attributing them to bart as I have a lot of neuro symptoms, but it could just be the lyme as well.

Gets worse when I am having a flare of all symptoms- maybe from the disease, maybe from a die-off, not sure...

hmm.... Not sure if this is the same but I have been having a "crawling"and then "biting" sensation all over my body...
feels like hundreds of tiny bugs crawling on me and biting me....almost a prickly sensation. It has caused me to itch uncontrollably. not so much stabbing, but more like tiny pin pricks, or tickling annoyances....

Doxycycline alone got rid of my bartonella (until I had to stop treatment prematurely, that is). Yes, you will definitely be herxing from it!

hey, I have had the prickling sensation as well. Also, have had itching especially after a shower.

I think it might be from the bart. I didn't have this with the babs or lyme.
