I am 20, and Ever since I started Doxy in Jan, I have had throat pain.

It started with White spots on my tonisls that would just keep coming. My doc would pop them and they would come back.

I get pain by my thyriod and up by my tonisls but my thyroid panel is normal.

I dont have any swollen nodules or anything in my neck , but my tonsils get red or swallon alot since I have had lyme.

I was scared I had throat cancer, and asked ALL the docs I had seen if it was it because of the pain, and they said no lol. My LLND was like no lol That she see's lots of people with chronic lyme complain about throat problems.

They even looked at my throat lol. Felt my throat and everything lol. It was good to know that I obviously didnt have throat cancer, I was just scared because this pain in my throat sucks.

I have had this pain off and on for 8 months. Its just so persistant! lol.

Any idea to what co infections can cause this. Its mainly on my left side.

I have Bart, Ehrlichia, and Lyme.

Well Bart can cause throat pain. Are you doing anything to treat that? I've had it too.. and I've started taking Cumanda.. Whenever I stop the pain comes back so I know it's hitting it.

I once had a sore throat on the right side for 2 weeks, and I often get a swollen gland in the right side of my neck. I don't have any obvious co-infections and my Lyme pains have always tended to concentrated on my right side, so I suspect it has something to do with Lyme in my case.

It could also have to do with EBV (Epstein Barr virus), which I know is high in my case, and probably comes and goes at different times depending on the state of my immune system.

I'm sure there are other possible causes too. It does seem to be something that a lot of people experience with Lyme (or a coinfection) to one degree or another.

Look at the SIDES of your throat. Do you have red arches going on around your tonsils?

Either way, a sore throat is very common with lyme. I had one for 20 straight years, before I was finally diagnosed.

You might as your LL ND about a Propolis & Goldenseal spray.

I have heard that is a symptom of bartonella, which you say you have. Are you treating bart?

I think I am. I am seeing that LLND in Montana. Dr T.

The bart though, since I started the meds two weeks ago, I ended up with the bartonella stretch marks all over my inner theighs and sides and now chest.

Is this common with Bartonella?

It's probably the bart but my sister just had her thyroid out due to cancer. She had some throat pain off and on mostly on the left. She had to ask for the ultrasound. Her thyroid felt ok no nodules etc. Well, the ultrasound showed 2 masses. If you continue to have problems ask for an ultrasound.
