Hello All-

I was recently (April) diagnosed with untreated erhlichia and RMSF. I had about 5 weeks Doxy and 4 weeks Rifampin had to stop due to severe diarrhea. I am getting ready to restart abx. I don't know which one yet.

But, over the past week I developed a slight rash on my feet, legs and both palms and hand.

They look like mosquito bites, but I have not even been out or bitten by mosquitoes.

My titers for RMSF were only 1:64 but pos. Therash starts out as raised bums that are painful to touch, then after a few days they flatten out and stay red but dont hurt.

Are they from the antibiotic? Or from the bacteria/ viral issues? Thank you! [Razz]

sounds like the classic RMSF rash. Not sure if it can come on this late though?

Does sound like RMSF...but contact your doctor to let him/her know about it.

You have a good LLMD helping you out?

I had the same thing on my toes last summer. I went to derm. and my regular doctor who tested me for lupus, which came back neg. Both doctors couldn't tell me what the blisters were from. They were red and very painful.

I had to go back to my LLMD because lyme symptoms got so bad I couldn't function again. I have been sick off and on with lyme since 1997.

My RMSF titer showed IGG 1:64 which he said was a past infection. Now I am thinking that is why I got those blisters.

Since I have been in treatment I still get red blotches on my hands but no more painful blisters.

Well I am trying to get into a local llmd who is good but he's refusing to take new patients. As you can see where I live.

I am seeing a knowledgeable alternative physician who's pretty much with the program..at leat he's figured out what's wrong with me. He's in california. Ugh! I am going to call him today.

It looks like a RMSF rash but mild...anyone know how I can get in to see th LLMD in SC?? Beats travelling to the west coast.
