I am just 9 days in to antibiotic treatment

I have been drinking plenty of water

but I see lemon will help me detox?

I also searched lemon detox and found the diet they are using in hollywood:

2 Tablespoons Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup Grade B
1/10th Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
8 fl Oz's Pure Water

obviously I am not trying to loos wieght but will this combo work better than just lemon and water?

anyway thoughts. I want to start to do more than just water... also what should I take for liver support?

I am currently taking the antibiotics and pro-biotics with plenty of water. and want to up the effectiveness of everything and protect my system from the drugs

Paul

The above combination is a fade diet. Please avoid that.

A little organic fresh lemon juice in water, with a dash of sea salt can be good for you - if your stomach can handle it. If your stomach or esophagus is irritated, avoid lemon juice.

Even with lemon in water with a little sea salt you need much more specific liver support in the form of Milk Thistle, etc.

You are taking Probiotics, too, right? Be sure to take away from both Rx and from herbal supplements.

yes I am taking theralac at bedtime away from antibiotics

I will add the lemon juice and water .. my stomach is pretty good so far

my next quetion would be if milk thistle helps protect the liver from toxins could this in anyway slow down it's process of getting rid of toxins?

I am wondering if I should only take the milk thistle if needed? so far my liver is ok

Milk thistle HELPS your liver process out toxins. You need milk thistle if you are on any antibiotics (and many other meds and OTC products) can damage the liver.

No one's liver is "okay" if they have lyme. Lyme is very toxic. The liver needs help. It's good that basic tests may be fine but there is much basic tests can't show. Support is necessary at all times. The kind of support may just need to vary from time to time.

Please see the liver links in the tinnitus thread.

If you are on mepron, ask your LLMD for other suggestions or timing of liver support as it can move the medicine through too fast.

Milk Thistle is the most well researched liver support.

One way that lemon can help the the liver is in the metabolism of oils. One of the links above discusses more aspects of lemon water. While it has some benefit, personally, I would never rely on that alone and I see it more as a nourishing food.

I think this link goes into some detail about it. If someone else has medically minded lemon links, though, please post. This may not be the one (and I'm too tired to scout it out):

I've got no links, but I've got experience.

Doc recommended one lemon and one lime in 8oz of water 3x daily.

I can't stomach that, however, one lemon in water 3x daily helps.

Timing is almost as important as anything else. If I drink the lemon first thing in the morning, I feel better overall. If I drink it an hour or two after I get up the results are not as good.

I put liquid stevia in my lemonade, and it tastes good. I would not use maple syrup because that could encourage candida.

I like to use a 12-ounce can of sparkling water for every lemon or lime so it's more festive and feels like I'm drinking soda (which I miss).
