So after many months of going between my LLMD and my eye doctor, I finally got in to see Dr. S., a neuro-opthamologist recommended here.

He did his exam, and gave me the same speech that my eye doctor gave me--there's nothing wrong with my eyes, so there must be something wrong between my brain and my eyes.

He said he's seen the same thing in almost all his lyme patients, and he wishes he could give me some advice, but he can't.

He said if my other sx continue to improve, but my eyes stay the same or get worse, my LLMD could order either a PET scan or a SPECT scan to check things out.

I'm just so frustrated right now. I thought he'd be able to give me at least some hope or tell me what to do from here.

What are your eye symptoms? Mine were/are completely gone due to drinking mangosteen juice daily. It's an anti-inflammatory antioxidant juice that scarfs up free radicals.

My eye symptoms were light sensitivity, floaters, eye muscle pain and blurred vision.

Lyme affects a lot of things. I concluded some time ago that it was a waste of time to keep consulting specialists, who just document the condition or lack of it. The only real reason to do these consults is to help the lyme doc, if he needs it.

Treatment for lyme and coinfections is the only solution to these problems, if they have not already done irreparable damage, and it doesn't sound like it has in your case. That is good news, isn't it?

Robin, I've tried the mangosteen, and it does nothing. I may try some other antioxidant, or lutein, or something.

Lou--I'm just concerned because I do feel I've lost some vision in my one eye, but since it's my "lazy" eye that never did work well, no one seems concerned, as long as I have my "good" eye.

But my good eye now has floaters--big, webby-looking things that Dr. S. couldn't see--blurriness, pain, dilated pupil and light sensitivity.

Please consider Stephani Root Tincture.

It has helped my vision problems BIG TIME!

And I could feel it the day I started taking it.

It felt like my eyes were breathing for the first time (they probably were... hence the oxygen)

Lyme effects our eyes in many ways (inflammation, poor circulation, etc)

Stephania helps with both circulation and inflammation. Thus Lyme-related eye symptoms.

Stephania is also anti-spirochetal. So you'll nab you some ketes on the way in!

Starfall, I've had numerous eye problems over the years, including floaters, feeling like I had something in them (esp the left eye), itching, eyes drooping or closing up when I herx, double vision, etc.

Double vision and floaters have disappeared w/primarily Lyme treatment, but other symptoms have persisted.

I've also had other allergy symptoms, such as sneezing and other nasal allergic reactions.

I'm primarily treating for Babesia now and sensed that some of these problems were caused by Babs instead of Lyme. I just feel like my entire left eye socket is loaded w/Babesia &/or Lyme. So recently I tried putting some metronidazole (Flagyl) cream onto my eyelids and the area around my nose as well as in my nostrils. I had a big herx, and my eyes and sneezing have both improved tremendously.

The generic metronidazole cream is very inexpensive. I originally got it for a rash I had, but decided to try appling it all around my eyes, upper and lower lids, and all the way up to the lashes to see what happened.

I've been doing it for about a week now, and it's really helped. I'm not saying that this is the cure, but it's really helped me. You might try it.

By the way, have you tried taking turmeric spice? it really packs a wallop, even more than some of my antibiotics.

I've also had numerous a

starfall,

It's true that lyme and co treatment are the most important things here. But there is a LL opthalmologist in Westchester County, NY. She really does understand the effects of Bb on the eyes, and does a lot of testing.

She also will recommend treatment or talk with your LLMD when needed. PM me if you want her info. I feel that she's definitely worth it. Other opthalmologists always just said, "you're fine, just presbyopia," when I definitely wasn't fine at all! Not helpful.

"Between the brain and the eyes" would be the nerves that connect them.

What you could do would be to try some things that reduce inflammation.

Antioxidants, like mangosteen
Magnesium
Fish oil, pharmaceutical quality
Systemic enzymes, like Wobenzym

You mentioned that you have light sensitivity.
That is a symptom of low magnesium.

Starfall, do you feel like there's pressure on the back of your eyeballs?

Thanks everyone for all the good suggestions. My symptoms are:

deteriorating vision
cataracts
dry eyes at night
eyelids so swollen at night that I can't open them for a few minutes to add drops
light sensitivity
red in the inside corners, especially the right eye

This has happened since I began taking Cumanda drops the past 2 months, so I am guessing it's a herx.

I have slowly worked up to 10 drops, which I take 2x/day. (If I take more, I am so achy and nauseous at night I wake up every 2 hrs..) I am hoping that in 10 days or so my eye symptoms will start to improve.

Does this all sound like Lyme and co? Or maybe parasites?

I have never heard of swollen eyelids - does anyone else have this symptom?

My eyes were so dry they were blood shot and I had to wear sunglasses in the house!

I started taking hyaluronic acid, which is collagen, and that made them feel nearly normal again. I take 100mg of vegetarian source.
Be sure it is not just chicken sternum or rooster comb as that is not as good. It is also very good for your skin and joints. Bb loves collagen so this replaces it.
