My son was prescribed zithro 250mg bid, minocin 50mg bid, and tindamax on sat/sun. I feel very overwhelmed b/c doc told me about increased intracranial pressure with mino and it seems like alot of meds at once. I also have lyme and I'm only on doxy 200mg bid since 6/10. Any thoughts/opinions?? thanks

It sounds like maybe he thinks he has chronic strep or something also.

It could be he feels he needs to work on that first...

I really don't know just guessing---

How old is your son? You need to go slow with the meds..should start 1 med at a time to see how he reacts.

My then 11 yo daughter was on the mino/zith combo for a while. I thought we were targeting bart, but I might be wrong. I wish that doctor had added tindamax because I feel we did not ever address the cyst form of Lyme.

My daughter started on tindamax recently and has had some positive steps on it without horrendous herxing like I expected.

It is a good idea to start one at a time so you know if there are any side effects.

Those dosages do not seem out of line with Lyme treatment.

Were you going to ask about Igenex testing???

That combo goes after all three forms of the borrelia at one time. It sounds good.

My 9 year old takes 250mg of omnicef twice daily, 200mg of zith once daily and tindamax every Sat and Sun. I was concerned of the high doses for her, but she sees Dr J and he is the best. I have faith in him.
