About 15 months ago I was diagnosed with M.S. after going to the emergency room with problems with my vision (colored spots). I was put on steroids then and another round a week later since the first time didn't help my symptoms (neither did the second) things just got worse.

I went from colored spots to very intense multicolored static. The static has gotten better but has never gone away completely. Let's fast forward to this July I made an appointment with a LLMD to rule out Lyme as a possibility since I was diagnosed with Lyme about 10 years ago.

My igenex results came back positive so I have been on antibiotics since august. They consist of oral azithromycin and cefuroxime axetil. This month tindamax was added. When I finished the first three days the left side of my face and my left hand finger tips had gone numb.

A few days later my vision has become doubled and it seems my eyes are no longer working in harmony. Can this be an allergic reaction, a herx or something else?

My LLMD told me to stop my antibiotics for three days to see if that helps. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My guess is that the Tindamax caused it. It sounds like a herx to me. Tindamax is a very strong drug that might make your Lyme more active since it breaks up cysts.

Only did tindamax for a day and a half. Took it in January for 2 weeks and it did nothing, this time, bad reaction. It changes with different meds. Feel better.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. It does sound like lyme symptoms. I think the eyes not working in harmony may be lyme, but am not sure about this.

My 6 year old sees colored spots and I am almost positive they are from his babesiosis. If I were you, I would ask for both of the babesia tests from Igenex (FISH test for microti and WA-1 test for duncani). The most standard treatment for this would be Mepron with zithromax and artemesia. However, there are many herbal options to consider as well. There is a recent post about that which you may want to look at.

Do you get night sweats or chest pain or air hunger?

I do get chest pains on occasion, nothing too severe but i have had these from the start of the vision problems 15 months ago. It is not necessarily pain but pressure.

I don't think my LLMD had me tested for co-infections, only the igenex western blot.
