Hi, I had really bad Lyme in 2001 and I have been better. This morning I woke up with about 8 "mosquito" type bites, but one bite has a bruised ring around it. It is about 1 inch in diameter. What should I do? I am freaky out.

My doctor is no longer practicing and I spoke with my family doctor, he thinks since I have other bites, one bite has a broken capillary. He said I can see his assosciate tomorrow.
Since I posted, my face started to turn bright red. This happens when I eat shellfish, but I have not eaten shellfish.
My husband wants me to take Benedryl, but I am still worried.

I don't think so, I do not have pets or around pets.

I second what SGK says. Take a picture. If it turns out to be something more serious you can show the picture of the bite.

Hmmm. Sounds like maybe you need another LLMD. And maybe take doxy in a high enough dose (200 mg twice a day) for 4-6 weeks to make sure.
Let us know what happens! That's rather alarming. You know, contrary to popular belief, Lyme can be transmitted through other biting insects, too, like mosquitos.

Thank you for your responses. I did take a picture. Of course my family doctor is not concerned. She said it looks worse than it is.

The longer you wait to treat the longer it has to disseminate into your body.
I would Treat Now and ask questions later.
