Before I get my cycle by a week or two, I am literarily symptom free. No symptoms at all. I have the most energy. I can stand all day and run around all day, and by the end of the day I am not even tired. Then after my period is over. I crash. So, lightheaded, pains, headaches all the time... Why does that happen? And does it happen to you?

(btw, my cycle is never regular).

I'm just the opposite. The week before and during my period I have profound fatigue and much more pain. Then, as soon as my period ends, I feel like a different person. Many other women on this board have the same increase in symptoms with their cycle...not sure why you're the opposite. I do know that abx effect hormones, which is why the birth control pill isn't 100% effective when taking abx.

Hi Jess,
I'm just the same as you and i have no clue why this happens. I'm going to get a female hormone panel done through Genova Diagnostics but the kit hasn't arrived yet and the test takes 4 weeks to complete so it will be a while till I know if i have some sort of imbalance.

What I've read is that in the first part of the cycle there's a rapid drop in levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone, while levels of both hormones are relatively stable towards the end of the cycle. So I'm thinking that maybe it's this drop in hormones causing more inflammation or maybe it's the increase in progesterone that takes place in the second half of the mestrual cycle that helps keeping it at bay.
I think an an estrogen dominance could have something to do with it but I'll know when I get the test done.
If you find out something more about the problem could you please let me know..

Oh yeah and my periods are never regular either and the headaches are the worse symptom during that time frame.

There is an intensification of immune response before and after menses. Increased symptoms may be a result of die-off.
