Hi,

Im in my third month of treatment. I'm currently taking Omnicef, tindamax, and doxy.

I just always feel like a zombie and it's hard to think/ have conversation when i'm on them. I have that drowsy feeling like i could sleep, but I am not tired in my mind.

Tomorrow my treatment will go to Zith 250mg/day and doxy 400mg/day, and 3mg LDN. My LLMD said we are going to try to get Bart which my Igg was positive.

My symptoms :
-weak
-muscle spasms(gotten better but still in face/hands)
-head pressure
-bloating
-very shaky muscles(ex. when i'm sitting and i try to slowly lift a leg, it doesn't go smoothly, it's really jerky if ya know what I mean.
-body fatigue

Anyone have similar symptoms or have any advice? Also anyone taking doxy and zith to try to help bart? I know zith for bart is not as strong as a couple other drugs for it, but my LLMD prescribed it for me.

Thank you all!

Sorry for no replies. I was a little confused by your questions. Are you asking if this is a herx? Most of us herx for a long time after beginning treatment...so that sounds like what is happening.

As for your other questions, I didn't have bart, so I can't help. I don't think any of the meds you are on will target bart that well. Not from what I've heard around here.

The bloating could be yeast... are you on a high quality probiotic--- and following a clean diet, free of sugar and white foods?

Lymetoo,

I am taking a good pro biotic twice a day. My bart test showed Igg 1:160 which isn't that strong. But my llmd decided to start zith with the doxy, so i'm not sure if he's trying to go after it yet.

I just started the ldn a few nights ago at 3.75 mg and have had some good dreams. I haven't noticed much else yet.

My main symptoms

weak
fatigue
shaky muscles(not shaky when you feel like the flu, but just shake when they are in use)
lightheaded
fine wrinkles in skin/ridged nails

Zithro is pretty weak for bart but it is given to children. So is doxy.
Rifampin is more effective and levaquin is powerful but can cause tendonitis and tendon rupture. Bactrim DS with a macrolide, like zithro is effective for me and has been easy for me to tolerate.

It is hard to know what is a herx versus side effect of a drug or relapse (drugs aren't effective).

Your symptoms are not typical of bart except the muscle spasms. It sound like your lyme is in the forefront now. With bart most people have insomnia, headaches, pain in feet or shins, muscle spasms, UTI like symptoms and a lot of skin changes (not necessarily streaks or stretch marks). I don't know exactly what you mean by bloating but that could be bart. It makes parts of your body appear swollen.

I think your doctor is trying to give you something that can attack both diseases.

Ok now I am not sure if the zithro or LDN is giving me these side effects. (I started taking them on the same day 4 days ago)

Low blood pressure
Ear ringing that hurts
hot flashes
palpatations

Does anyone have an idea?
I am thinking about stopping them for a day and see how i feel.
Thank you

I have been having similar questions.....I have had some terrible herxes. last one landed me in the hospital. but the really bad herxes have been around 4 weeks apart, starting 4 weeks after my new regimen. So I am looking at that as a clue. Trying to have faith in my LLMD. My best guess is that there is die off, which are making me feel like garbage, and the constant barrage of heavy antibiotics are not helping.
I don't have the same regimen as you, or the same symptoms, but I think its a combination of disease die - off plus antibiotic side effects. Personally, I have resigned to feeling like garbage for at least a year... good luck to you.

Some days I wake up and everything hurts. It is like a charlie horse everywhere plus really sore muscles and stiffness. Sometimes I worry it is the Levaquin I am on wrecking my tendons but then sometimes it goes away. I think it is a herx but not really sure. I take doxy and levaquin. hang in there.
