Hello all, I am not able to focus and not able to understand what other are saying. I am just remaining blank. I am not being attentive. I could not respond because I don't understand. Even I am not understading when I read something.
Can you guys please let me know what is this and is this common? What is the solution for this.
One more thing I forgot to add. A few weeks back one of my friend sent me pictures of his Nephew and I think I read it as Niece and wrote the comment that "she is so cute". Tell me about the embarassement afterwards.
thank you, Barb

Just letting you know this is common. I have the same thing.
For instance... I have to read every post, (and I mean every post) 3 and 4 times before I "get" it.
I purposefully try to focus and can't.
Little background noise totally ruins it for me when i'm try to understand what I'm reading, typing, talking. I just go blank.
As for a solution... I'm on gotu Kola right now and started Acetyl L-Carnitine. Hoping to add some Ginko biloba and Phosphatidylserine.
People can add to this if there are other things that really helped their cognitive function.
I'm also doing iv Rocephin generic and haven't noticed any decrease in the brain fog.
Get better soon.

- Lyme encephalopathy (brain swelling) causes a lot of the brain fog.
So does toxicity and also the hit the inner ear takes. There are dozens of ways lyme causes brain fog.
Gotu Kola is excellent but nothing is more helpful than actually addressing the infections - along with support supplements and being patient.
All systems are on overdrive. The brain simply can't wake up and do all that we want it to. Patience in great measure. -

Ts, what is this Acetyl L-Carnitine and where do you get it?. I mean, do you need prescription for that?
I had the Brain MRI and SPECT scan and the results were fine. I am taking Gotukola. I also take Regulat.
Looking for more inputs. Barb.

- No Rx needed for Acetyl L-Carnitine. Google will lead you to details but look for informational articles first and read up on it before you buy.

I believe Acetyl L Carnitine is more effective when taken with Alpha Lipoic Acid. You can buy them together from vitacost.com. One capsule has 600mg ALA and 1000mg of ALCAR.
ALCAR is also good for stamina and it helps convert fat to muscle. I give it to a horse with a metabolic condition that causes neurological problems and muscle cramping. The difference is unbelievable. So I believe it also will help people with muscle twitching and cramps.
For my horse he gets one gram per 100 pounds.
Coconut oil is supposed to also help with brain function. There are some remarkable stories online about how it has helped people with dementia.
