I taked this for yeast but notice that Nystatic is very sweet. Why would an anti yeast med be swet!!!!

I take the tablets, they are not sweetened. If you have thrush in the mouth you will likely need the liquid Nystatin that you swish and swallow. It is sweetened because otherwise people wouldn't take it as prescribed because would be too bitter and nasty tasting.

Sweetened with what? Something that feeds Candida? LOL! I like bitter things, so I'd be fine. [Smile]

rxlist.com says the Nystatin suspension contains sucrose but I'm not sure how much. Must not be enough to alter it's efficacy or else they wouldn't use it. This is the gold standard thrush treatment.

Use the tablets not the liquid. I've railed against the liquid form for years. I can't believe drs are prescribing it... Makes no sense to me either, Rich!!! [confused]

BTW, the powder is nasty but good for thrush and esophagus .. and on down.

Someone posted a long time ago that the sugar in the liquid is minimal....but so is a tiny bit of gluten!!

Minimal? I avoid sugar like the plague and here I am drinking it three times a day!

Its expensive AND it doesn't work. Hasn't done a bleepin thing for my tongue yeast and so I have

my doubts that its doing any good internally either. I'm also not on abx and not eating

sugar/carbs so theres no excuse for it to not work.

There is also clotrimazole tablets that kick it fast.

But if you take the Nystatin tabs 4 times a day and stay away from sugar you may not need them.

I just eat lots and lots of raw garlic, cloves, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, onions, turmeric, pau d arco, etc.

You can get nystatin compounded without sweetener, that's what I did, it's not that bad. Yes, outrageous they put sugar in something meant to treat yeast.

[Plenty of outrageous things in the drug industry. Outrageous they put aluminum in alinia as well.]

By the way, nystatin helped me a lot keep it at bay, but what really knocked it out was rifaximin. However, it improved things for a couple days, and then things like diarrhea ended up worse than before I tok the rifaximin. I think it's an example of killing some bugs so the bugs not killed take over. Perhaps it gave more breathing room for the worms, dunno, just speculating.

Michael... The same thing happened to me. My GI dr thought I might have SIBO and gave me Rifaximin. I was better for awhile... then back to square one.

And this is the guy who doesn't believe Candida exists. (big sigh)
