B-12 shots (compounded, no preservatives, by the way) gave me more energy and helped a bit with peripheral neuropathy.
I did them off and on for a few years.
Needed to give it a few weeks each time to really see results - but they did help.

I am seeing a vast improvement in energy. I take them 3 times a week (wish I could take them every day) and really notice a difference if I forget to take one.

Why would a B-12 shot make me sleepy? I've tried at least 5 or 6 times and each time, I do not get ANY energy! All I get is SLEEPY!
I do 1cc of whatever it's called (starts with a "c") that my doctor prescribes. I've tried Metanx (sp?), the oral "activated" B-12 tablet and it does the same thing!
What do you think that's all about? My B-12 level has dropped over the last year (?) from the high 2000's to the low 300's right now.
I don't pee "red" after the shot, is that something that happens with everyone? I always look for even a tinge of red.........not there!
I just don't think it's getting into my tissue, even though the shot SHOULD! I'm thinking another Spectracell test is in order. I haven't done that in about 2.5 years. It showed I was low in B-12 and B-6.
Any thoughts? I kept thinking that a B-12 shot would do all kinds of things for me.........energy, help w/ my peripheral neuropathy, cognitive issues, etc. I'm really disappointed.
I want to do the Spectracell again and compare it to the last one before I try this nasal spray form of B-12. Anyone have luck with that?
Please suggest anything! Any ideas????
Thanks, terri3boys

terri, You must be taking cyanocobalamin. I take hydroxocobalamin but would like to take Methylcobalamin which is the preferred form because it doesn't have to be converted.
Do you give your shots intramuscularly or under the skin?

Yes - take methycobalomin B-12, with no preservatives. You need it compounded from a special pharmacy.
(And, yep, it'll make you pee red! ...I also had small kool-aid colored stains on the skin where the shot went in at times.)
