Yesterday I did pretty well. It was my antibiotic day. I tend to better on my antibiotic days.

Feeling so awful today - every bone/joint hurts and I have nerve pain. I'm on neurontin and it's not helping.

With this amount of pain, I feel like I should not be alive. Not suicidal, just physically...how can I be alive and walking around with this much pain??

Is this normal during treatment and will it EVER let up??

I use to get that..Mac truck syndrome I would call it.

It was "normal" for me and it DID let up after months of consistant treatment.

I did not do well when I first started pulsing - think I started too fast and the MAc Truck feeling would hit me hard. Went back on abx.'s full time for a total of 6 months and felt much much better. Such a rollarcoaster ride.

For years, before I was diagnosed, I used to say that I felt like a truck (or train) had run over me.
It took a long time for me to feel any better during treatment... I only felt worse.

Too bad you're not taking the meds everyday.

Thank you. I am just needing to hear that this will eventually go away. There is no way I could live like this for the rest of my life. It is brutal pain.

I am on a really strong IV protocol, so I'm glad that I'm pulsing it and getting 9 days off at the end of the cycle (my liver would fail I'm sure if I didn't have breaks), but keep thinking I may need to be on antibiotics every day when I switch to orals. We'll see.

I also went right into the strong IV protocol (I only treated for 3 weeks oral abx back in June), so I'm being slammed.

Neurontin was supposed to help, but it's not...so now I'm just wanting to come off that drug altogether. I am done with not knowing what is side effects of drugs and what is lyme itself.

I just want my body to heal!!!!!!!

Yes, it's very common to feel like being dropped by a helicopter, bouncing down a mountain, hit by a bus before rolling home.

Yes, it can get better but it's can be bumpy ride at times.

What is your liver support? Milk Thistle, ALA, etc ?

What is your adrenal support? This is very important.

Taking magnesium and Fish oil ? Hope so.

I had to laugh - sorry - you said it so well- I feel the same some days - and certainly worse since starting treatment. That is what is so frustrating! Hang in there. Be kind to yourself!

Keebler,
You made me laugh. [Smile] That is exactly how I feel...except after my hit by the bus, I'm not lying in a hospital wrapped up in casts with a morphine drip! I feel like I should be in the ICU, but I'm walking around trying to act normal.

I am taking NAC, ALA, omega fish oil, magnesium malate, nattokinase, mulit-vitamin, VSL #3, saccro-B, CoQ10, biotin, warfarin 2mg/day for blood clotting w/picc problems, coconut water kefir, 300mg neurontin...oh, I'm certain I am forgetting something.

I was taking milk thistle, but haven't taken it since starting treatment...I need to start again. I drink lemon water. I need to start epsom salt baths again, but was afraid of yeast problems and soaking in water.

Oh, I am fighting systemic yeast right now. I thought I got rid of it, but it seems it is hanging around. This could be adding to my misery.

Runningshoe - hope you feel better too. I'm glad we made you smile. [Smile]

Hang in there know exactly how you feel. And yet we still manage to function, well sometines and usually even have it in us to smile.

Whats really hard sometimes is when i'm told "but, you look so good"

i'm not in treatment yet still don't know what llmd to choose and cost is a big factor.

I will pray for you and hope you feel better soon!

Yes, and when I tell my husband and little kids that "Mommy feels like she got run over by a truck, today" they know not to expect much from me that day. My herxes last 1-3 days and sometimes I can barely walk. When I went out dancing for my birthday about a month ago I felt great during, but after it took me a week to get over it. Let's say I won't try that again for a while!

In the beginning I was worried that my joints and muscles would never feel the way they used to, but now I'm happy to say, that with treatment it goes in cycles and you will start feeling better and better.

Hang in there, you know the treatment is working!!!!

My symptoms and pain have never been near that severe, but when I'm herxing or if I've exerted myself too much, I often have days I describe as feeling "hit by a truck" because all my muscles and joints hurt, or maybe "like somebody beat me up". Luckily I don't get the horrid nerve pains.

I guess my "hit by a truck" is more a figure of speech, whereas you all sound like you feel as if you were literally run over by a truck.

I hope it lets up or you find a way to relieve it. Walking around with minor pain all day drains and discourages me. I can't imagine walking around with overwhelming pain that requires your entire focus at all times, just to keep from screaming. But I have read a number of stories of people with Lyme and co. who have experienced something like that.

Hang in there.

Thanks all for the words of encouragement. The nerve pain usually makes me curl up into a ball and beg for mercy. I can sort of get relief by lying in the tub for the "crushed by a truck and should be lying in the hospital" feeling, but nothing relieves nerve pain flares. I have found that meds don't really help with this severity of pain.

I am really amazed by my strength throughout this! I don't know how I make it through the days, but somehow I manage. We are really strong people here!!!!!

Today I am still in pain, but overall feeling better! I guess it helps that I have had moments when it feels so light and great to walk around w/o pain. I just wish those moments would stick around longer!
